clare - the home my mum was in was part of a sheltered housing/care home and was brilliant. There were people there with all mixed abilities/disabilities.......some needed no help at all but just needed to be safe. Mum was able to buy her flat when she sold her house. The same charitable trust have built retirement villages in Milton Keynes and Northampton and the look lovely from what I've seen. Milton Keynes isn't far from my son either.
Still, don't want to make any hasty decisions too quickly till we know what the outcome will be.

Found my 'positive' hat, popped it on and made a button necklace.....................lol:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Haven't been on for a couple of weeks - seems like years, can't believe we're on page 35 and not even two weeks into 2011!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So Happy New Year to you all, this thread just grows and grows, I'll have even more trouble keeping up this year! I'm concentrating mostly on being a bit more money savvy this year but will be popping on here regularly to keep up!

Sending big (((hugs))) to all who need them xxx

I'm looking for a notepad, that i can keep my birthdays in, my purchases, my grocery challenge and have wallets in it to keep receipts. I want an MSE organised notebook. Have you seen anything like it? Looked in whsmith and they only have a project book, the little wallets won't hold many receipts. I just want somewhere small neat and tidy to keep it all in. :) l will use a spreadsheet but I need something tangible to keep it real. :)!

I had an email from oraganised mum and they have a sale on. They do loads of stuff along those lines.

Not a good day for me today, all my plans went out the window after I fell at toddlers club. I was washing up the coffee cups and turned and saw that a little hand was shut in the door (turned out to be my dd). I ran out to open the door, slipped on the foyer wet floor and went down. Unfortunately my ankle twisted and then I landed on it. Initially me andanother ladythought it was hilarious ( my sense of humour) but then I thought ow that hurts. Now very swollen and in agony. Went to local gp and they sent me to country hosp for x-rays. Wishing I had gone to main hospital a+e cos basically was sent home after x-ray they then email it to doc who gives initial opinion over phone and then tomorrow afternoon I have to get proper results on phone from hospital. I may have had to hang around in a+e but at least I would know for sure. Initial opinion though is it's not broken just badly sprained so hoping that's right. On crutches and not aloud to put any weight on it for 3 days, I can't anyway lol
This'll be fun with toddler twins!!

Hope everyone had a better day than me
    xx

    Hello all :j
No crafting today...........had a rough night last night, didn't sleep well at all. Disability claim forms came through and I read through them........makes it all the more depressing when I read the questions about what I can and can't do and most of the answers will be ''can't''. Took me all my time to read it all.
Rang Ageuk and someone is coming round to go through the forms with me so I don't put the wrong thing down, plus assess me for any extra aids I need so thats something.
Thinking maybe we'll have to move to sheltered housing or somewhere thats easier for me.........ho hum...............;)
Maybe get my buttons out tomorrow.........mustn't let it stop me doing everything must I.

Milla - moan away - crikey I do enough of it and this lot are so supportive. Hope you feel better soon:)

You did the best thing getting the professionals in to do the forms, know when the lady did mums last yr, she could narrow down to four words, where as I would wrote halve a page.
Don't get downhearted, its just it settling in, and if you need any aids makes life a lot easier.
Like now with the stairlift we wonder how the heck we ever coped without it.
Thou if you can get some cards crafted your keeping in your own way, your soon have all xmas presents sorted, being and ready to post. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
