Have you tried Boots online as they have some of their toys at half price as does Sainsburys, Debenhams, a few in John Lewis and Tesco? I've got some lovely birthday presents from Boots and have put them away for birthdays. I've also got some bits up to 75% off at the ELC. Hope that helps a little.

  • Well folks - I've done a "free" vistaprint order, but somehow during the checkout process, got a little bit confused and ended up ordering 500 business cards that say "Hand Crafted Cards".

Guess I'd best get crafting by hand - ooops

But I did get a free pen, a rubber stamp, and let's not forget the bumper sticker for the car I don't have!!!!!! I also went for the 21 day delivery and cashback via TCB, so if that comes through, will only have to sell one or two cards to be money neutral:j
That post made me laugh a lot!!

    And Halfcost :)
Hawkin has a 75% sale at the moment too.

I'm , the gifts I sent my nephews in the US arrived yesterday after a month with DHL (posted speedy-post on the 6th December ) and my BIL is sending the younger kid's shirt right back because it is too small for him. Not a thank you to be seen, just "box arrived, wow that took a long time. I'm sending YB's shirt back, please exchange it for the largest youth size." The child is 7 years old and can eat an entire KFC bucket by himself. And does, routinely, along with the mountains of junk his mother gives him as snacks to go along with his video games. No wonder the poor little **** is fat :o

  • Thanks for your advice some really good ideas here. I will need to see which would suit him best as money is very tight but I do like the hamper idea where we could make some bits and pieces. Thanks again.
Have a look at the website http://www.chemoangels.net/Angels%20Corner/Sub%20Folders/survival_kit.htm#Anti-Depression_Kit
You could make a hamper of virtually free things that create a 'survival kit' - things like a paperclip attached with a sign saying "to keep things togehter when it's all falling apart" or a penny "so you never need say you're broke!" etc. There's loads of ideas of things like this on that website. Not sure how suitable that would be as wouldn't want to be insensitive.
Other people may find the website useful too. I've used it to make a survival box for a friend going to uni!

Saver I did similar to those as Thankyou gifts for my sons Godparents at his Christening. They are really sweet idea, and dont break the bank.
