Have a look at the website http://www.chemoangels.net/Angels%20Corner/Sub%20Folders/survival_kit.htm#Anti-Depression_Kit
You could make a hamper of virtually free things that create a 'survival kit' - things like a paperclip attached with a sign saying "to keep things togehter when it's all falling apart" or a penny "so you never need say you're broke!" etc. There's loads of ideas of things like this on that website. Not sure how suitable that would be as wouldn't want to be insensitive.
Other people may find the website useful too. I've used it to make a survival box for a friend going to uni!

    Brilliant find thank you.

I'm sitting down tonight to make a list of items we can get together for him.

    Hi,
I managed to get a few bargains when we went shopping yesterday.
I had admired a beautiful lantern for candles in a shop pre Christmas, was $60 (about £40) ,saw it last week in sales for $40 but thought it might come own a wee bit more, so wandered past shop yesterday & it was down to $20.....so rushed in to buy it.
Got bits & bobs for dd2's birthday......not easy as she was there! Kept sneaking dd1 money to go & buy things! Got her lovely Disney PJ's for about £6, earrings for about 75p,lip balms for £1.50 set of 3. I find things very expensive here,so it's good to get bargains!

Not been on in a few days, I got antibiotics, and high dose ibuprofen, and some cold and flu tablets, I have a mild dose of flu with chest problem :( my head hurts SO much I cant face the computer. My lakeland order arrived, and my friend was really chuffed with her bin for her car. She is a social worker and has MESSY teenagers in her car, so hoping this helps the mess.

Have a good day, im going to just chill on the couch.

I have had a lot of Vistaprint emails since I did my order last week. I want to get another of those free cotton bags, in fact I want to get three of them altogether over the course of the year, but they have not been on the lists I have been sent. I used the link on one of these posts to get the one on order (many thanks to whoever posted it).

If anyone else gets one for next month can you let me know please, Rufus xx

What do people order from vistaprint? I have done an order a few weeks ago but just for some labels. I don't run a business and wondered what you all order and why? Nosey I know but if you don't ask you don't get.

This time I only ordered the free cotton bag and a pen. You can order up to four items at a time but there wasnt anything else I wanted really at the time. Last year I got a couple of free t.shirts and a mug and some stationery printed with my ExMil's name and address on it. They had Christmas cards as well but I missed those.

You still have to pay the postage on your items but this normall works out to less than a fiver for most thinks and you can go through Top Cash Back and they give you a fiver everytime you shop so pays for your postage, Rufus xx
  • I'm supposed to be sewing today, I'm making a dance costume for my friend's daughter, but I think a couple of nights of little or no sleep, plus yesterday's cleaning, has completely worn me out. I went to bed at about 11 last night, slept straight through til 9 this morning, didn't even drink the cup of tea I took upstairs with me. Also been doing some card making - (pics on blog for anybody interested).

I think I might have to have a bit of a doze, and see how I feel afterwards - have a lovely day everybody xxx
