Wow Georgie - I thought they wouldn't honour it, so I didn't bother with that one. I had loads of DVD's cancelled from a glitch just before Christmas. Booo Tesco - I would have liked that one.

Well done on your bargains Georgie - I may have to go and look, but I'm a bit skint at the moment.

What you do for the weightwatchers offer is. It's already half price, but if you go through Quidco (do you use it? You should you know, you'll save £100's a year). Anyway, you go through quicdo (type in weightwatchers and it will come up). Click on the link and pay as normal, and then a month later quidco give you £30 cash back. It's easy I've done it twice before.

I'm like Poohpals though. I NEED the strictness of being weighed by someone. The more firm the better - I want to be told off if I put on, not to be told, 'it's ok, it'll come off next week'. I NEED to go to boot camp!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If anyone knows about dieting it's me. I've joined all the diet clubs going - I can lose the weight but it's keeping it off. I've lost six stone, three times, and it's nothing to brag about - I'm ashamed! :( This year WILL do it!!!

I think I was just lucky - got my despatch note from Tesco today, when lots of people had their orders "delayed". Then with the Elvi thing, it seems lots of people have had their orders cancelled, but they could be people who didn't have a full price thing in their basket.

Diets? I've done pretty much all of them - WW, SW, Slimming Magazine, Rosemary Conley, Atkins, and even Limits biscuits (remember them??)

I have tended to use TopCashBack, but did join Quidco - thought I'd used it, but on checking my a/c turns out I hadn't. But I'm up to £40 on TCM. I'm sure I used one of them for my first Sainsbury online shop, but can't find any trace of it, so I'll have to get more organised.

Not done the Limits biscuits or even heard of it. I've done Cambridge, and slimfast too. What was that other one? The F plan. OMG. I should be as thin as a rake the amount of dieting I've done. :D

I hope you Elvi order doesn't get cancelled too. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I'm on here because I still can't sleep, but I'm off now so I can go to bed and stare at the bedroom ceiling. Luckily it's dark so I can't see the cobwebs on the light fitting. ;) That's what I get for coming on here so often. I burnt my tea, yesterday and today because I was distracted by MSE. OH will be confiscating my computer next. :rotfl:

Oh well off to bed.... Night Georgie. Night all. Take care xxxx

fedupandskint - I got a book from Lakeland, and some jars and lids. So plan to make some jams when i get the book, turns out my dad likes marmalade :) What was it you bought in lakeland?

    snowflake bundt cake tin
    daisy bundt cake tin
    1lb jam jars
    set of lids
Santa present bags (were back in stock at 49p)

Only went on for some more jars after gave so many away with gifts in - whoops!

Also ordered myself a new set of hopefully high quality cutlery I've been hankering after. Was going to get it from Debenhams then found a bigger set on amazon with 4 extra pieces for £89.99 instead of £175 on debenhams.

Using the Tiffany lamp money which is going back and cost more and waiting for another lamp to come up. this one just didn't feel right plus all the bulb messing about and dodgy fitting

Thanks Fedup - I did google a recipe but there was nothing - I will look on the site instead. I forget about River Cottage - is it that Hugh Fearny Whitingstall Wotsit or is it something else entirely?

River cottage is HFW site and the river cottage preserves marmalade recipe is on there. Its a bit of a faff finding it but it comes up

Delia online also has her marmalade recipe

Have a good day everyone, I'm limiting myself on the lappy today until later on as I've got a load of stuff to do today

Mum2one - I re-read that and it sounded like I was going shopping in my dressing gown................:rotfl:

I did get Jammies, 3 pairs of pants, and jammies for the price the dressing gown was originally in DP's! Very pleased. Oh I got 10% off and a free delivery so everything for 30.00. I did spend nearly a hundred in Fossil, with my long necklace and my charms and a purse for my friend.

Junior J - What about some Sparklers, you can get silver and gold lovehearts, some party poppers, a 21st badge, a Key. those Gel cushions for your tootsies, some new nail varnish.............

Good luck all of you going to Weightwatchers. Im ok that way, I just need to get back to being fit and toned. So we are joining Zumba. :)

DD slept til 530am, a dose of nurofen and she slept til 8am. :) I managed to get up, get showered and dressed and she was still sleeping. Going to get my second coffee for the day :)

  • I got some good bargains in Boots so I feel happier now I've made a start on 2011 prezzies.
I got an Umberto Gianni hair set for £10 instead of £20 - that's for SiL's birthday at the end of the month. I also got a Botanics set, £4 reduced from £8, and a Twilight bathy set £6 reduced from £12. I quite like the look of the Twilight set for myself, but I will probably give it to my niece as an extra prezzie for her birthday tomorrow :)

Actually, looking at my totals spent there, somethings not right. If all the items were half the marked price, which is what it said, I should have spent £20, but it only came to £18. Hmmmm, will have to find my receipt and see which was cheaper than I thought.

Oh, all this talk of losing weight is reminding me that I really need to sort myself out. I put on quite a bit of weight during and after having my son (not that I was a size 8 before!). Last year I got the Wii fit for Christmas and I love it. I found it really worked, along with eating less chocolate etc, and I lost nearly 1 stone. Then with all the stress of our difficult house sale/move I think I've put it all back on again. I haven't dared to weigh myself yet but I can tell with how my clothes fit that I've definitely put quite a bit on :(

I'm on a mission now to lose at least 2 stone (and keep it off this time!). DH and I have decided we'll try for our second child this year and I want to be as healthy as possible before we do so I hope that will be a good motivation for me. I'm quite interested in joining an online slimming thing like Weight Watchers. I can't go to a 'real life' one as DH works in the evening and I'd have to take DS so I wouldn't be able to concentrate.

With so many of us wanting to lose weight this year we should be able to encourage each other and reach our goals, just like we do with our thrifty giftyness!

Blimey you lot can rabbit in the evenings lol, wish I had come on as well now, OH was supposed to be home by 7.30 ish but the bloke taking over from his shift was in a car accident and had to go to hospital so OH didnt get in until nearly 11. Glad he is off from tomorrow for the weekend.

I need to go and sort out my craft room today as its a bit of a mess up there. Did make a small start yesterday by gathering up all the Christmas wrap bits and putting them all in a black bag to go in the loft tomorrow with the new stuff.

OH bought me a DAB radio for Christmas so I think I will wait until daughter has done an hours art work (got to have shower first, then breakfast lol), then she is going out for the day with her mates and I will have the house to my self so can go up and have a good sort out.

Also want to get my special cards put away before OH spots them as there is one for him for next year.

Was on one of the hand made threads yesterday and someone suggested making quilts out of old pairs of jeans so might keep this in mind for the nieces if I can find some cheap enough to buy at the boot fairs when they start up. Rufus xx

    Hiya,
First of all well done on losing the weight in the first place.

Can relate to what you are saying as it was like that for me, lose the weight but can't keep it off. It sounds like all you need is a bit of regular exercise to raise your metabolism and give it a bit of a nudge, because your body is obviously responding well to any diet change/restriction that you introduce, Testament being you've done it 3 times! wow!

Btw, if you use weights you can lose a lot more weight! Cardio helps to increase your heart rate and burn a lot of calories at the time you are doing it. But by using weights, your muscles burn off a lot of energy when they are "healing" so effectively you are exercising for half an hour but your body is still burning off fat for the rest of the day.

good luck with it all whatever you choose!!! 2011 is the year for you! x

I wish I had a craft room. At the moment, crafting in front of TV in the lounge which means there's mess everywhere and if anyone visits it looks awful! Oh well. I'll sort it in a bit!
