Sorry Bunbun - there was a code on Grabbit before christmas, £8 off a £10 spend with free p+p. My order arrived today after being stuck in the Christmas post. Will save if for DD for easter now, she's got enough for her birthday.

So sorry you missed out. :(

Bunbun - here you go - they are reduced too. http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/elysium.search?search=candy+grabber

Just noticed it looks like a referall - I promise its not.

When you click on it, it states Elysium, not elysia. Honestly.

  • I was told in work today that I should sell the cards I make - one successful card is not exactly going to impress the bank manager when I go in with a business proposition but it's certainly an option (pic on blog)

But that's about making money I hear you cry but never fear, I have a tale of spending money as well

I bought 4 storage boxes (along the lines of really useful boxes) in one of those discount stores that seems to open just in time for Christmas, and is now having a 50% off everything sale - 2 x 24 l boxes and 2 x 6.5 l boxes. All with lids. Cost £9.

And it's still December, so officially, I still have 2 days of spending freely before starting to save!!!!!!!!!!
  • I have done so much spending in the sales the last two days. I have finalised it by treating myself to something I have wanted for awhile. A photo frame clock - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000LRJ9HC/ref=oss_product

    Happy Christmas to me!

2011 is to be a year of strict saving and organisation!

Of course I can, I've just dragged myself off the Jane Asher website looking at sugar flowers and cakes that cost £700!

Also just ordering another Lakeland delivery of more jars and lids, Santa present bags back in stock 49p for 3 and some cake bundt tins which are my new toys after baking a cake in one and no one can believe how it looks and that I've made it! Can't resist these 2 in the sale when I know how good they will look when used!

    Anyway back to the recipes

Easy use either whole fruit or sliced fruit method

    3 Fruit Marmalade
1kg made up of a mixture lemons, pink grapefruit and sweet oranges
    75ml lemon juice
2kg of demerera sugar with sliced fruit method OR 2kg granulated sugar for whole fruit method

    Lemon Marmalade
    1kg lemons
1750g sugar and 250g honey add at same time as sugar

    Seville and ginger
Replace 250g sugar with 250g chopped crystallised ginger added at same time as sugar

Lots of marmalade steamed puds to be had!
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

    Hi all

Elysia, are you ok after your harrowing experience at the shops?

I took all my library books up the shops today and found it shut and the box they leave outside for books was jammed to the top so I couldn't leave mine and had to lug them around when I did lots of shopping. Why I bought a very large book at the charity shop is beyond me because I was walking back home with 4 heavy carriers!

The library closure wasn't a mistake, but me getting mixed up again. I thought it was Thursday today :)

Then I get home and wanted to make a cup of tea and my kettle caught fire!!! good thing there wasn't any paper nearby. So I phoned mum and told her because she's got the same kettle as me.

    Sounds yummy

Do I need to go and source cheap oranges now, or do they have to be Seville oranges? What about sugar? Can it be any sugar (except perhaps icing) or should it be pectin sugar (have I got that right or did I just make it up?)

You can use normal oranges - will give a different taste but probably not too different at all in reality

Sugar in my recipe is either granulated or brown demerara as I think oranges are pectin rich - deffo not icing and prob not caster - just buy some bags of granulated. That's what I used last time and it all turned out fine
