Hiya Donquine, thanks for the link. Trying to save a few pennies at the moment so I'm not looking at the Grabbit as much
I've just bought our Jack Russell a new coat. He is 90% white, so stupid me, thought I'd buy him a pale cream coloured coat. it's ok when it's dry but you ought to see the state he comes back from his walk in lately, with the snow and mud, so I bought him the camoflauge jacket - it's so cute!!! Let's see if he can get that dirty - well it will be, no doubt, but I won't have to wash it so much.
I'm glad Natasha is feeling a little better Esmer but it may have been a combination of things. It said on the news the other day that there was over 300 flu like viruses doing the rounds, and if you didn't get one, you're going to get the other. My DD is much more like her old self now, but she sounds very stuffed up. Hopefully she'll be right as rain by the time she goes back to school.

just found out the leap pad system my aunt and cousin got my DD is out of the charity shop, which is all well in good if it worked
I have nearly chucked it in the bin through shear frustration on getting it too work.
Im all for recycle, savvy shopping. But im angry at this as I now have a wee girl asking why its not working, and looks like I will have to buy the unit so she can use the system. Or hope that she forgets it exists. My Aunts response was, Can your dad not fix it>?:mad::mad::mad:

Back from Wilkos that have a load of Christmas stuff - decs, wrapping paper, ribbon, bows, lights, gifts etc all on half price
Bought some gift boxes that are 'luxury' Who termed them that I don't know as they are quite flimsy but will do nicely for HM sweets next year - bought the last 3 for 75p each. Tags to use on HM gifts eg jam, compote, biscotti etc for 40p for 10 and a lovely big Santa gift box for 88p half price!
Also collected the large valet Autoglym set for £40 from Halfords - was this price instore on the shelf - despite the website saying web price £40 instore £86.99. Anyway got it now and ready to go in the cupboard for next Christmas present. Just a few more sponges to go with it and that present's done!
Might take the decs down tomorrow as I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing them now. Right off to update the present list and budget and off to do a bit of cleaningfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Welcome Donquine
- don't worry about not being organised enough, that's the whole point of this thread, to get us all more focused.
Hi dragonlily and karmacat
JJ - I really hope you get proper sleep xx it must be very upsetting for you for the children to move away, I wonder if you're very worried about it and possibly making your problem worse?
Esmer, I remember mine when they were little and teeth can create some major problems with temperatures etc. Are you getting any sleep yourself?
After getting myself into that horrendous muddle Christmas Day with ds's envelopes I just now rang up the home and asked a number of questions about how those collaged envelopes and money are dealt with so I've had a brainwave how I can do the final step a lot simpler.
So my to-do list is -
1. finish off the Xmas envelopes left behind
2. get everything prepared in advance for the birthday ones in Jan.
3. get some other presents
4. I, J and P all in January
5. M's wedding anniversary beginning Feb.
6. start making new envelopes for Dec 2011 and Jan 2012
7. find a better home for special occasions items
I finished everything from my previous list about writing up all my notes from 2010.
Hope you're all having a productive day.0 -
Went up town this morning, eldest Grandson came with me for the walk. We went in Card Factory and I got all my special cards for next year plus 10 rolls of wrapping paper and a box of ten cards (already have some left over from this year) and it came to less than £6.
Then we went in New Look and I used the rest of my vouchers and bought two cardigans and a top and only had to put £2 towards them.
Went in WHSmiths and bought a Beast Quest annual for youngest Grandson's birthday, was reduced to £1.99.
Then we went in Wilkinsons and bought another two rolls of wrapping paper (a nice thicker one) and a pack of bows and ribbons, and two packs of the folded wrapping paper. Came to about £3.
Grandson was so impressed by all my bargains, he was bumping into loads of people he knew and was telling them all lol.
Been trying to motivate daughter into doing her art project, she has made a start on a big model she needs to make but still has a lot to do in her book. Feel like I am knocking my head against a brick wall somehow.
OH is working today and tomorrow and then hes off for the weekend. Daughter is babysitting the Grandchildren on New Years Eve so me and OH can go out for the evening and I now have a lovely top I can wear. Then hes working Monday and then off for 9 days holiday so will be trying to get the spare room wall paper finished during that time.
Anyway, off to watch a bit of tele, catch you all later, Rufus xx0 -
I'm not sure I'm organised enough to join this thread, but thought I would pop in to say... In case not everyone checks the discount codes and/or grabbits board...

Spend between £5 and £6 and your item is free. I ordered a dog fleece (ie something that won't go off!) and will put it away for Christmas 2011 if it's honoured.
Thanks so much for thisI've ordered a lovely looking red fleecy blanket and a leather dangly toy for my cats - for free!

Did some shopping on M&M direct last night too - I got an FCUK boxed wallet for £9.99 for a Feb birthday (budget £15) and for Christmas an FCUK wallet and belt gift set for £14.99 (budget £20) and two pairs of Bench slippers for £5.99 each (budget £10 each). Not massively under budget but way under normal shop price and they should look like decent presents, so I'm happy.
Think I'll have to stop shopping for a month or so now though til my funds replenish themselves a bit! Only three birthdays until March though and I've got the presents already"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
