Just posted this on the sister thread and thought I would put it on here too in case it helps someone.

I have had a good deal on Superdrug, I saw on Grabbit about a code to get £5 off (although they are not supposed to post codes on there so might go soon), you have to spend £20. I ordered three of the mens gift sets, Lynx Dark Temptation Trio Set £8.99, Gillette ProGlide Regime Box Gift Set £14.99 and Nivea For Men Prepare To Shave Gift Pack £7.99. Total came to £31.97, gave me three for two as got an offer on gift sets at the moment, this took it down to just over £23 so it was still over the £20, used the code and it took it down to £18.98 and its free delivery at the moment on there. I saved £12.99 altogether so very pleased with my self and thats a nice lot of presents for OH to bulk his Xmas presents up a bit.

    Hello all :j

At last we have a shower that works:T So.....tried it out.........lovely I thought then noticed the water does seem to spread all over the floor  Being wet room the floors supposed to slope towards the plughole (so I've been told)..........then OH noticed a hole(well almost..........rather deep crack !!)in the front room ceiling.......not seen it before......well you dont go round looking up at ceilings all the time do you. So, rang the builder who rang the plumber who rang us.............poor chap..........always seems to have to come here and sort something out. Seems he knew about the 'crack/hole', meant to sort it but forgot so coming next week. Said about the rather large 'puddle' that spread over the bathroom floor and he said that does sometimes happen.......especially in a house like ours (typical) where there's not much room to slope the floor (not enough gap between bathroom floor and downstairs ceiling hence crack and lack of slope.) Anyway, same thing happened with another wet room he'd done and the old chap keeps a mop in the bathroom and just mops the floor when he's had a shower-sort of mops it towards the plughole.............oh why is nothing straight forward in our house...........
Still waiting for builder to tell me when he's fitting the kitchen............
Plus side........did get some more fabric bits done for grandsons 'christmas in a box'.........bit stuck on what sort of eyes to give gingerbread man (not very good at cutting out little bits of felt for them and goggle eyes made him look scary).....so much look at how other folk have done them. Snowman looks a bit 'odd' as well.............think its back to the drawing board with that one.
Never mind................apart from all that all is well :)

    Hope youre all ok:)

    Hello everyone

I have made 6 jars of tomato chutney today for me and for presents for a few people which used up all the toms from the garden and the only thing I had to buy was some more onions, Used everything I had in the cupboards or had been given (toms and chilli)

I have been looking for a new christmas cake recipe and have found a couple I think I will make by the end of the month. Meaning I had better check out what ingredients I have and what I still need to get in ready to go. Shouldn't be too much to get apart from brandy

One more lot of chutney left to make - delias christmas chutney and I have nearly everything in for this apart from some more jars. This is the one thats a big favourite with everyone who has had it including me!

Then its onto thinking about baking for christmas again - biscotti, try to make some turkish delight and see how this goes.

What else, not much apart from picked up a couple of huge boxes of Thorntons from Mr Ts this week down to £6 instead of £12 (I think). A few people at work getting a bit stressed about christmas presents and its nice to think I've nearly got most presents all done. Will be having a mosey at the outlet shop too in a few weeks time to see what they have in there

Mum's picking up a turkey crown again as last years was lovely while I concentrate on emptying the freezer out to make some space for it to go in!

So, not much else to report really christmas wise apart from feeling it will be here pretty soon as autumn has arrived and the shops are getting there Christmas stuff out. Oh yes, one decision I have made - I will not buy any tins or boxes of biscuits this year as when I buy them I eat them and think, that wasn't really worth the price! Let me see if I can stick to this or cave into the M+S biscuit offer!

OH's stuff came this morning about ebdoscopy the 'jobsworth boffin' wants him to have...........they forgot to say the actual date of the appt !!
He's not having a good day today............says they have to something, he can't go on like this forever. Thinking of looking into going private but the local private hospitial has same consultants as he sees now !! No point in that. Have to google a bit I think.

    Hope you're all ok:)

    Afternoon all

I have been on my own since yesterday lunchtime. OH is due home soon, been nice and quiet and I managed to get on with some sewing and knitting. I made these slippers for YD for Christmas.

    100_1448.jpg

I have put them on my blog with the pattern I used. They were really easy to do and I knitted them both in an evening.

I think I will keep a look out for some more Aran weight wool and make some more for presents for next year.

Might make myself a pair too as I have some more wool left over.

YD has split up with her BF, at the moment they are still friends so I am hoping they stay that way as I have got her photo book printed with one page with her and him in it otherwise I might need to get another one done. They would have been together a year this month. She doesn't seem very upset at the moment but then she has been out with her friend all day.
