Susan, so you're hiding your holiday photos? :)

Day 1 of my weight loss didn't go according to plan :( DS went awol most of the day and it messed up meals, then his dad and uncle said they were coming by the evening so I bought some cake and biscuits - and I couldn't stop myself because I hadn't eaten anything for tea.

I've just been sorting all my dolls house bits as I plan to make a setting tomorrow at the craft club. Years ago I had planned making them as presents but decided against it, in case people didn't appreciate it.[/QUOTE]

The holiday photos apart from the ones with me on can stay the rest deleted.

As regards the diet, went to morrisons shopping put mars bar on as treat, got to checkout and took it away. Thought I`ll have some cherries intead (£3.01:eek:)

Then son came in with big box about 11.30pm last night , 12 krispy kreme doughnuts. I was in bed, he text me and asked did i want any . no of course i didnt.....about 12am went up and snaffled two:eek:. not good so today i am starting the diet, but my will power is useless.

rufus - glad DD birthday went ok in the end.

I off on disabled outing today, i`m the driver so dont know where we going....could be two hours could be more, later

    Morning all

Anglea, we had a load of dolls house bits as UD had one with all the furniture etc. She never played with it though, used to use the rooms as shelves for any and everything. When the grandchildren came round the middle grandson used to love going up and sorting it all out and doing the rooms again with the furniture etc. Then one day I said he could have it round there house to give us a bit of room. Within a week all the furniture was smashed and the house looked like a bomb had hit it. Cant understand how he was so careful with it at my house but as soon as it got home it went to pot. It wasnt an expensive house, I had made it myself lol with some mdf, but the furniture wasnt cheap to buy. Shame as I reckon I could have sold the furniture on EB, still never mind.

YD needs a new mobile phone as her other one is playing up. I saw one on the Grabbit board a few weeks ago, was £19.99 plus pay £10 credit and you get free internet for 6 months plus unlimited texts and some minutes for £10 month PAYG. I had already spent a lot on her birthday so asked ED if she was interested in getting it for her. She said yes and went online to order it but then got an email a couple of days later saying could she ring them (T Mobile). Turns out it was out of stock but lady said they were getting more in and would ring her back. She didnt get another call, then last week I saw they were back in stock on the site but gone up £5 so told ED but by then she didnt have enough money to get it until she got paid. Then yesterday she texted me to see if I coudl ring up local shop to see if they have one in stock as she was working all day. Rang them yesterday afternoon and bloke couldnt see any on the system so I was telling him how we had been trying to get one online etc and he said he would check the stock room. came back and said he had found a pink one if it was any good. Just what we wanted anyway, so he has put one by for today and ED is picking it up as off today.

Hope everything is ok with Mary and her OH xx

    Hi all

I'm late should have been at the club already and still only eating breakfast.

Susan, naughty you getting out of bed for the doughnuts :rotfl:

Rufus, I wonder if the dolls house was ruined by your grandson or perhaps he had some friends that did it?

There are three of them Anglea two boys and a girl and they dont look after things that well, very boistrous (sp?). OH said to me it wont last five minutes round there but needed the room anyway.

I was just on the Amazon site, having a look at the daily deals (which are usually weekly) and found James May's Toy Stories on there for £6.97. I have bought it (with my voucher stash) for youngest grandson for Christmas as I he has a scalextric in his room and I was telling him about all the things on the show and he seemed really interested in it. They also have some Lego sets on there this week, someone was asking for Lego deals? Cant remember who it was without going back through the thread xx

    Hello all :j
Saw OH last night -he looked much brighter than Sunday, still concerns about his breathing so he's still on oxygen and seems he had two heart attacks either on admission or during op ! He told me that -no doctors or nurses did but when I asked thats what they said. He'll be in intensive care for a while yet from what they told me onh phone this morning but they've got him out of bed and in a chair -complete with all his wires/tubes. He even asked for a newspaper last night.
So seems like some improvement but a way to go yet.
Gardener chaps popped to newsagents to get A4 pad so I can start listing my complaints !

    Hope you're all ok:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - Poor OH. When will it end?

Fedup - remember those jars of Oranges in Lakeland to make up Marmalade. They do them now in thick cut (as well as fine) and also Strawberry and Lemon. I'm just waiting to empty some jars (and buy a few pretty ones) before I start. I have about four of each, and they each make about six jars, so I'll be on a conveyor belt too. ;o)

Hiya everyone - See, I am trying to keep up. It's much nicer now that more people are posting. I feel all excited and Christmassy. :D

    Hi all

Mary, That must have been a tremendous shock for you to hear about OH's heart, thank goodness he's sitting up and seems better.

You'll end up with rsi after writing all those complaints, seems a neverending saga for the both of you. How are you coping?

Rufus, ds was in that Toy Story documentary, no idea if he's in the book - does it show any photos of the people involved or just James May and the toys?

I think I would have been upset if I'd made a dolls house and it became broken. I remember how disappointed I felt during my courting days with ex.

I had a window very high up so you had to get up on something to access it and put your hand through the slatted blind. As he's tall, he didn't bother and just reached up and knocked off my treasured vase and the plate which came with it, I thought they were antiques. Luckily the vase was ok but the plate broke. I've never forgotten it even to this day LOL

Elysia - I've never seen jars of strawberries before.

Elysia - Oh yes I saw the tins in Lakeland - however I am using fresh for now and have a spare tin of sevilles alongside my many jars of marmalade stored away! The tin of sevilles was the easiest version of marmalade ever!

Angela - blackberries aren't out here yet - they are just buildng up and should be ready in about 4 weeks time

5 jars of greengage jam made yesterday and today one very small jar of redcurrant jelly - still I'll use it up in casseroles and gravy as it nearly boiled away. Will watch that a bit better next time its jelly making time next month!

Anglea - here are the strawberries ( and lemons and oranges further down) you only add a large bag of granulated sugar and boil it. I added a glug of whisky to make it tastier. :) It's so simple. I've just finished mine I made last christmas, and I gave some as presents. Everyone loved them.

I must try and not buy any more. I had a voucher through the post this morning for £5 a £30 spend, but I'm not looking. :D

really fancy the sound of those jams, bargain price, when u think of what we pay per jar, sorry to ask a silly question, (complete novice at this), but can u use recycled jars - wash the, then dry them and lids in Oven - would you still need to use the greaseproof ring?
    Cheers in advance.
One more quick question (sorry), how long does it last for once made and when opened. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
