Morning all
Anglea - its the dvd I bought with all the shows on it not a book.
Not much to report here gift wise but family wise is another story. YD got in yesterday eve, seemed in a funny mood, which isnt that peculiar these days, thought it was just that she was a bit disappointed with the new phone ED got her (she really wanted a Blackberry but have promised to try to get one for Christmas). She went up to bed and so did we, I had just dozed off when my phone got a text message, it was YD asking me to come in her room. Found her in floods of tears, BF trouble again. They split up before her hols but have got back together again but he told her he couldnt see her today as he was having another girl round who is a friend of his for the day. YD was getting in a right state about it bless. She said she was texting BF and he was coming down to meet her and they were going back to his Nan's house to talk and she was allowed to stay over. Got up this morning hoping they had smoothed everything out to find she was up at 1am posting on FB really upset so I dont know what happened.
I have texted her this morning but she must still be asleep. I must say I am really not very good at all this, I had it a bit with my son when he was going out with girls when he was in his teens, but didnt really have any problems as such with ED at this age. All I can do is be there for a cuddle but I hate seeing her so upset, it upsets me as well.0 -
Elysia - i like the sound of them jams. When I go to lakeland I`ll pop in and get some, i`ll be interested in all the answers you give to mum2one as well.
Rufus - you`re doing the right thing, thats all you can do is be there for when she wants to talk, looks like boyfriend is punishing her because she went away. Happened to a couple of my friends kids. Bit of sulking and nastiness. But it`ll soon blow over. He trying to make sure she dont go without him again by the sound of it. Kids today are so pocessive.
Mary - wow your really going through the wringer big (hugs) for you and OH. What is that hospital doing?
Angela - mmmm doughnuts....lol. I was good yesterday ate lots of fruit...Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
OH bought some of the lakeland marmalade and strawberry jam. he has made the strawberry jam and said it was easy to do. he recycled jam jars, washed in the dishwasher and warmed in the oven. not sure how long it keeps but the jars he has used are only small so won't last long! I have been eating it and it is nice but a bit too sweet. maybe we might put a bit less sugar in next time (if you can do that and have it set OK)
will try the marmalade soon!
rufus hope things are OK with your dd.
mary so sorry to hear about your OH and read about all the problems. hope he is on the road to recovery.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Hello all :j
Well here we go again.
After a good day comes a not so good. Phoned hospital 9.30am.........OH in very confused state of mind. Somehow managed to get to the loo -beggars belief how with all the tubes/wires-next thing nurse finds him on the floor ! Managed to get him back to bed -still very confused and kept asking after me. Nurse told him I'll be there tonight but he'd forget and ask her again !
I've asked to speak to a doctor tonight - won't be consultant I wouldn't think for one minute but I need some questions answered so am making list!
Rang our GP to update him - he can't believe it all and asked me to get the name of whichever consultant is dealing with him this time -been different one each time for same problem ! Maybe he can find out more than I ever will.
Told cleaner to forget cleaning tomorrow -would rather pay her to take me see OH
So, the saga goes on and on and on...........least now I've written out my complaint neatly and rang our solicitors to see if they handle medical negligant stuff. They do but have to see all the details and if its worth pursuing on a no win no fee basis I can do that with them. I'll see what they say.......if not I'll get support of ICAS. Someones responsible for all this.
Sorry all my posts are much the same...........
Hope youre all ok:).I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - there is no need to apologise, that's what we are all here for, to support each other. I do hope things get sorted out soon though, you must be a nervous wreck yourself with all this worry.
YD's sage seems to be calming down again, she is very much in love again according to FB lol. Her and BF are going to Thorpe Park for the day tomorrow so she will enjoy that, she loves it there and he hasn't been since he was little so she is taking him on all the rides. I have some half price tickets (buy one get one free) so won't cost the earth although they have put their prices up a bit this year I noticed.
Forgot to add, her new straighteners came this morning, not that she has been home to see them yet lol.0 -
oh Mary my heart goes out to you, everytime i see youve made a pos on this thread i hope that at last youve found something positive out or your DH health has improved in some way. i hope the doctor has answers for you tonight, im sure we will all be thinking of you and hoping tomorrow you can at least feel a little better about how he is being treated.

Hope OH is going on ok, I'm sure everyone won't mind me saying, but were all here for you.
If you don't get anywhere with the no win no fee, don't know if you have legal cover with ur household ins, can never remember if its buildings or contents, but I have used ours a couple of times and have been brilliant. You take care xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Mary-op - reading your posts reminds me of when my partner was in hospital. We were able to get a solicitor for medical negligence paid for by our house insurance, so check your policy to see if you have legal cover. Didn't win though, but at least nothing to pay for trying. My name 'parapusher' is for pushing a paraplegic - he went into hospital walking with a bad back. He was in and out of hospital for 5 months, then in the high dependency unit on a ventilator for 2 months, then kept waiting for 3 months for a place in a rehabilitation unit because the wrong information about him had been sent to the unit.0

Hello all :j
Thanks for the tips on house insurance -I'll check mine.
As for hospital, well may as well bang head on brick wall.
OH looked awful last night but least not so confused.
Today he looked better and oxygen been reduced which is good but something not right with bowel (sorry if its too much info)......he's had tube up backside and bag, not sure what for as he's no control over motions and couple of 'accidents' this afternoon. No one to ask what was going on, no doctor about (whats new ) but did get name of a consultant so will tell our GP. Maybe he'll get somewhere.
OH in a side room now due to chest infection - test done on Friday but result not till yesterday !! So, now he's isolated but least he's got a tele and it helps pass the day. He''s so fed up with it all.
So am I. Even started talking to myself at home - is that first sign of madness ???
Oh and last night I mentioned his spine problem and the medication he should take.....staff knew nothing about any medication and I sent it all in a bag like they always ask you to. So, today, got it out in full view for them and took his bone strengthening pills in (last week during his last stay they ''lost'' them so had to get some more)
Hope you're all ok and sorry I've nothing more interesting to postI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
