Am exhausted now as still not quite over swine flu, just the tiredness not contagious!! I've downloaded the spreadsheet mentioned on the sister thread and been putting in my figures. Am having a dilemma about tesco vouchers. Until now I've used them to swap for days out with the kids in summer hols as it means I can take them places they wouldnt normally get to go. Dont know now whether to save them for xmas instead? Am inclined not to and to try and ebay etc instead for funds as I love being able to take the kids out for a treat. What are your thoughts?

    Al x

I am so jealous of you all being able to get out to the sales I still have this stupid chest infection and bronchitus and can't stop coughing every time I move :(

I would use the tesco vouchers for your days out or maybe you could use half for days out and half for christmas.

I have bought a few bits for DS's birthday from boots online but not quite the same as going out into the shops and grabbing the bargains.

I hope everyone is keeping well.

mummyslittleboy, I'm kept at home by illness too - I'm shopping on Lakeland's website at the mo, and yesterday it was john lewis and ebay ... I know sometimes its difficult to sit at the computer, but if you can, there's stuff there. I just phoned lakeland's customer services, even, to ask about something!

Just did my first big of shopping on Lakeland. There is a code for FREE delivery. Thirty quid spent on

I was 30.00 Saved a bit on stuff as it was on sale.

Can I ask what the code is, please, or where you found it? I had a look on the Discounts and Vouchers Board, and they seem to be saying there's nothing, not for a £30 shop (argh, and I only have £14.46 I want to buy! Rats :) )

    Hello all :j

More christmas pressies came yesterday:T Two of the boys we used to foster came up with bags of stuff....chocolates, lucky bamboo plant (I hope so....lol), little red flowered plant, cuddly reindeer, Irish Cream coffee sachets, assortment of beer for OH, and now I've got gift bags to use next year and some lovely ribbon that was on them............lol

Spoke to eldest son and we'll be having Christmas with them in March (all being well OH should be a lot better by then)...........:)

My backs hurting today and OH not walking as well as he did yesterday but good days and bad days it seems. He was trying to walk without a stick -maybe that was a mistake.

Least the weather is a bit warmer and we've got rain instead of the white stuff. :)

    Take care all:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

mummyslittleboy - double edged sword getting to the shops yesterday as am all achy, headachy, tired etc today and coughing up blood which isnt nice. Think I rather over did it, will be having an easy couple of days and browsing online sales (lakeland open on another page at the mo). I'm supposed to be going to an Alice in Wonderland themed 30th/anniversary/new years eve party on the 31st and havent managed to get a costume sorted due to being ill - do you reckon I could get away with stapling a pack of playing card to my clothes?????

Kiwi - coughing up blood doesn't sound too good -get to the Docs pronto, and that's an order ;)

I've forgotten who it was who asked about Tesco's vouchers. When I joined here this time last year, I saved them for days out too. We've done all the local ones now and OH won't travel to Alton Towers etc. If I was you I'd save them from now until the end of summer for days out - You've still got to have a life remember, and then when the kids go back to school, save them up for when you get the double up offer ready for Christmas. I worked out great for me. I bought DD2's birthday present a TV. I had £55 worth of voucher so doubled up and got £110 then I chose a £150 TV and only had to pay £40 cash. It was brilliant. I hope that helps a bit.

Happycrafter - wow you made a lot of nice things. Well done you.

Georgie - I'm going to checkout your blog in a mo - so if you gets some strange follower it's only me. ;)

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I've just filled out my spreadsheet with gifts I've already bought for next year (all money neutral as paid with earnings on the other thread) their value is £1,1533.99. I guess I must have paid less than half of that (didn't work that bit out) but all of it was paid for out of earnings anyway, so to say I'm happy is an understatement, and these are gifts for next year remember, not ones I've already given.

    Hi all

Hope those of you unwell will feel better soon,

I went to Card Factory and bought 60 nice cards for next year. Also got a Bookmark calendar - you can peel off each month and use as bookmark (also reduced) which I plan to send as a New Year gift to an online friend that is always sending me surprise pressies.

Mary, that was nice to receive those extra presents. You seem to be very well thought of by all the children you've looked after.

I've been getting myself a bit worked up lately as someone has been dumping their rubbish in my wheelie bin, and because the binmen haven't turned up for a few weeks, it's not funny as today I sent DS (who hasn't been well) to take some of the bags including the extra ones to a temporary refuse point.

Because it's Christmas I'm not going to say anything (a shopping list was sticking out of one of the bags and I recognised the names on it) but I won't be pleased if it happens again unless they ask.

Has anything like that happened to you?

Anglea - I suspect theirs was full so they used one that wasn't. There are wheelies where we live, but I don't have one, as I'm not close enough to the road apparently. I do have a green wheelie and they manage to get that one Ok, so it's anyone's guess what they are playing at.

I wouldn't be too stressed Anglea, it's only a small thing, but if it happens again, I would have a polite word ;)
