Sorry for posting and running earlier. I've just caught up with the thread. I'm so sad to hear Anglea's news.
I think about people who haven't posted recently, all the time, but it's such a shock to hear that she's gone.
Mary - glad OH is home. Did he like the garden?
MissPixie - Welcome to the thread. If you're looking to make a bit of cash to help out, there is the sister thread (money making) and we have challenges too. If you need any help or inpsiration, pop on over..

Hi all
Mary hope everything goes well this weekend.
Hi Miss Pixie welcome to the challenges
Mum2one, I never eat Indian so was interested in your school menu - did you make the toasted sandwiches because some of the children wouldn't eat the other food? Or do you normally get them in restaurants?
Whipped cream and honey sounds good.0 -
Hello all :j
Well.........OH home at last...........got back 8.30 last night. Medical team were happy to leave then 5 minutes before he was due to get the taxi the back chappie turns up. Wanted him to stay in hospital and have spine CT biopsy Tuesday.........couldn't or wouldn't give a time for scan otherwise OH would have happily gone back for it but he couldn't stand the thought of three more days in that ward with just the tele and newspaper........not even another patient to chat to as they were all too ill or very elderly and with dementia. Back chappie said if he didn't stay he'd have to go on a waiting list for scan biopsy so thats what he's opted to do.
He got so wound up over the last two days and upset it took him a while to wind down when he got back........still taking him time to get used to surroundings. Feels like he's been away for longer.
Wore me out trying to sort different departments out and find out what was going on so I know what he feels like.
They've given him spare dressings in case his wound leeks then I've got to change it till he gets to nurse at surgery on Tuesday. Bank holidays always get in the way of these things. Had he been allowed home on Thursday like they had first said he could have arrange for nurse to visit.
Now I'm back to being head chef and 'fetch and carry' duties................lol
Still, might now actually get around to doing something creative instead of worrying...........lol:)
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - I hope you manage to have a lovely weekend with OH now he is home, nothing like being in your own surroundings. Its a shame about the scan, silly really isnt it why they cant still do it on Tuesday.0

rufus - I know.....sounds daft and if I can manage to get through to radiology on Monday (they don't seem to answer the phone on a normal day so bank holiday I won't hold my breath) and find out a time OH can go in and have it done. It's obviously needed but why this couldn't have been sorted out while he was in hospital is beyond me. He saw back specialist on Wednesday as he'd got an appt anyway so thought he may as well keep it. Now he wished he hadn't then he'd have just had another appt. and been home by Thursday.
Of course, letting OH attend for the scan on Tuesday and having some ''normality'' time at home is too much like common sense for the men in white coats to understand sometimes I think. They don't consider the mental/emotional effect sitting in a hospital ward doing nothing and not needing any treatment has on someone.
He's settling in at home now and being like his old self but thinks he's getting a cold. Not surprising being in a hothouse all that time.........lol
Oh, something in the post for you as well:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Ooh Mary, looking forward to it, thank you. I can never understand hospitals, you are right they dont seem to think about what the patient is going through and some of the wards are really boring. When ExMil was in hospital a few weeks ago I popped in to see her, like your OH she was on a ward with patients who were either too poorly to speak to each other or were suffering from dementia. She was really bored, they only had a tv in the sitting room bit and she couldnt get to it, had to stay in her bed. No phone either like on some of the wards. I think I would go nuts if it was me, they would have to bring in my sewing machine lol so I could get on with something xx0

That'd be fun to see Rufus.
Someone please stop me buying up half of ebay. I've had all my patchwork squares out, getting ready for some sewing of my own tomorrow, and they all seem to be patterned. It'll look too busy unless I put some plain fabrics in there too. The trouble is, I'll have to wait for them to come, before I can sew them then.
ETA: there is a pink theme as they are all flowery, but I will have to wait, as I want in alternate with cream squares to tone them down a bit, But I can't find any. Oh well, will have to start my sewing later.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Elysia - thats the only trouble with fabrics they look nice together but you do need some plainer filler ones to go with them or it looks too much. I tend to buy more of the filler fabrics and then try to use just a few of the others depending on what I am making. Mind you saying that have a look at the one I just finished lol (on my blog) I was using up all the little scraps I had left over, less than 2 inches wide all of them.0
