Evening everyone,
I am so eager to get started with my plans for next year after looking at all your ideas. I've got my calendar and diary ready to start making lists. I always cut up cards to make tags, never thought to use birthday cards though, so thank you. Never thought to shred used wrapping paper either!
Have decided to join the £2 sealed pot challenge (not telling the hubby though, lol) Need to find a jar next.
My best present is my new mac laptop and even though they don't have sales, I did get a discount for being a student, yippee x0 -
Hi Tinkers
What was that about birthday cards?0 -
Mswan -
JJ - yes it was you and the inflatable manI was talking about. Did your mum like it?
Sleeping -sorry to hear you are having these extreme kinds of difficulties. Are you on the computer or tv at night? I find this can affect my sleeping a lot. As to what else to suggest - years ago I read that standing up on your tiptoes for about 3 mins before bed can help and I do it if I remember.
Yeah she did thanks lol. Its because she kept moaning about my dads flaws so I thought a inflatable man could fix that:)
I will try the tip toes trick thanks hun xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Esmer - I'm glad Natasha's tempterature is more under control, and sleep will do her the world of good.
Thanks for the idea Anglea - I'm like Mswan, I need to visualise it. Thanks for the link.
Rufus -I'm glad your Boxing day went well - be careful when you go out tomorrow. If your weather is like ours, it's starting to melt at last, but it's very slushy and very slippery.
I'm not gloating but - I WON THE BOWLING. haha. even DD1 came second. OH thinks he's the bees knees because he always wins. He was in a sulk for a bit untill we teased him relentlessly and he started to laugh then.
My iron broke, so we made a detour on the way to Bowling Alley - so I could take it back. Exchanged it for a cheaper one (half price in the sale) so I got a £40 refund. I went into Boots next door and bought DD1 a Soap and Glory set half price, and DD2 and jigsaw to put with her birthday presents for next month. Oh I love bargains.
Here's my present list to do for the nexy few months:
DD1 - Birthday done. Jan 18
Neice no 2 - Birthday done Jan 19
Feb - valentines - to do
March - Nephew to do
March - Dad birthday done
Mothers Day - Done
April - Easter some presents done for two neices (bought after last Easter)
DD1 birthday - done (soap and glory set usually £25 paid £12.50, tickets to see Take That (£65) and over night stay in hotel and Large bottle of Victor & Rolf flower Bomb perfume (usually £75 paid £38), and two personalised books (usually £20 each, bought for £5 each)
OH birthday - to doI :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Hi al
JJ glad your mum liked the fun pressie.
Elysia, your DD has some fab presents lined up for her birthday. And WELL DONE on your bowling win.0 -
Just seen this. and I think its rather cool, if you have a crafter in the family, somewhere for a pin cushion and to keep your pins. http://www.favecrafts.com/Sewing-Tips/Canning-Jar-Pin-Cushion/
DDs temperature is still staying HI, but she has eaten a cheese sandwich with some crisps, at least that is something. I gave her a bath just make her all clean, fresh pjs on and she has one more dose ofcalpol at 745 and then off to bed.
Elysia you are so organised already.
I need to buy my pot for the sealed pot challenge. Something I cant get into.

I am SO going to make one of them. Even been in the garage and found out a jar with a suitable top! My MIL does loads of sewing and is big into quilting at the moment, and only mentioned Christmas Day that she wants a BIG pin cushion that fits on her wrist! Off to hobbycraft tomorrow for some felt to get it done!!!!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
I would love to join in with you all. I really need to be organised for Christmas. I was dong so well this year had booked a holiday for Christmas (just 4 days) but it would have been a nice break. It wasn't to be my D.H. had a heart attack on the 8th of Dec. so everthing was cancelled. I have 4 children (youngest 41 in Jan.) also 11 grandchildren, youngest 8 so have loads to buy. Need lots of help and advice. I also do the G.C. and have made a pledge to save any £2 coins in sealed pot and save £1 a day also in sealed pot.
Looking forward to hearing all your tips and advice. Hopefully I will be able to offer lots of tips also.
Pat:)
Happy new year to everyone.:wave:Debt free from April 2012:T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j0
