Hello all :j
OH's birthday yesterday and oh what a day:eek: His back was so bad he couldn't get out of bed and couldn't put weight on his left leg for the pain all the way down it. Rang gp and he said he needed xray so organised ambulance to pick him up within 2 hours..............two hours came and went -then another, then another then phone call to say they'd no idea what time it would get here due to crew shortage  All this time and the pain is really severe -he's getting stressed and so am I.............8pm paramedic arrives and does assessment, 9pm ambulance gets here and off he goes. I phone hospital at 11pm -no ones seen him so I go to bed. 12.30 this morning 0H phones.......he's been discharged and got to find a way home -20 miles ! All our friends were in bed so he ended up getting a taxi -£26 ! Gets home with no walking aids, nothing except some tramadol (which it seems we're being billed for !!)..........no xray done, just dr. having quick look, prod about, says its muscular and thats that.........told him to rest but keep mobile..........well with my spare walking frame he can just about walk -or hobble/hop ! I am so mad:eek::eek: Have drafted out letter of complaint for the treatment -or lack of...........
OH hates being stuck indoors so he's fast turning into grumpy old man.................lol My sanity is at risk here........................lol:rotfl:
elysia - I'd love to sit in the garden but the garden chairs are yukk! and there's still a pile of wood heaped everywhere till cleaners OH collects it..........not much out there to enjoy at the minute. Hoping next week garage will be cleared of the accumulated ''stuff'' and OH's mate can start sorting the garden out...........:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Oh Mary - what a shame for Oh's birthday to end in disaster!!! I agree there's not much in my garden to look at at the mo, mainly weeds and a few daffs.
Sending big hugs and wishes that he gets better soon.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

elysia - thanks.........OH is getting bored stiff.............not helped by the fact wretched pain killers hospital dished out are making no difference to his leg pain at all. Good job I'd got a spare walking frame else don't know what he'd do...............we're like bookends we really are.............lol
His mates been and done the shopping thank goodness so we can at least eat............lol:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - i do sympathise with you both , backs are awful things. Get some frozen peas on it. It does work honest, if it dont reduce the swelling, it`ll freeze the pain. My OH was a bit sceptical, we went to alton towers with the kids once, his back was that bad he could hardly work. So I used his belt to strap an ice pack from the picnic to his back and he was that amazed, he went on a rollercoaster after, not recommended..... Belated happy Birthday to your OH
mum2one - thank you for the challenges. I`ve modified them a bit and just been out and spring cleaned the motorhome. Been meaning to do it for ages and OH washed it , as I was doing something. Pencilled the freezer in for tomorrow:D
Elysia - I`m giving you a boot up the bum....lol motivation :rotfl:
Nicky - great customer service :T:T
esmer - good luck with the house
rufus - good to see the vista print dispatch was early, mine dispatched too but cant remember when I ordered it:oChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

Ditto from me as well, big hugs for both of you, not being cheeky is OH is 60+ (is it 60 or 65 for free prescriptions) then the same will apply at the hospital.
Without out sonding graphic - he may need to increase fibre intake as tramadol can be a blocker for some people.
Our back garden the one section looks like a race track, as bailey thinks its fun to run round Miss hoodies trampoline like a madman....

DD has been on and off a wee madam today, not sure if its the terrible threes..... or she is coming down with something, or just asserting herself. She is sleeping here next to me on the couch, and its bliss
Thanks for the callanges Mum2one...... I think I will prob get them all done with me moving house. I go in and out of panic mode.
My friend has been getting messed about with a bloke on one of the dating sites, saying he is all for her and wants to be exclusive bla bla bla but he is still on the dating site. he is so full of crap.

Cheating SOD that he is.............. my friend signed up as another user, with photos and a profile of my other friends. He arranged to meet person tonight, he is supposed to be only seeing, not to be dating other women. So we are all going tonight!! That's funny, I have a student teacher doing her placement in my class at the moment, her name is also Emily. Can't be your Emily though as she mentioned having a brother

mum2one - he has plenty of fibre anyway so should be ok I think...........mind you not that they're helping with the leg pain at all.
He's not 60 yet so has to pay for prescriptions but I was wondering if, now he's classed as my carer (bit of a joke that now he';s got my spare walking frame to get about the house-like book ends we are..........lol)and doesn't work whether he'd get them free. Might have to look into that..............cost us a packet this week in prescriptions, hospital taxi fares etc.
Found complaint form on hospital website so have filled it in..........now its a ''wait and see'' case.......:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Just picked this up from NHS website, but infortunately it looks like he will have to pay,
You can get free NHS prescriptions if, at the time the prescription is dispensed, you:- are 60 or over

You are also entitled to free prescriptions if you or your partner (including civil partners) are named on, or are entitled to, an NHS tax credit exemption certificate or a valid HC2 certificate (full help with health costs), or you receive either:- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
Find out more about the NHS Low Income Scheme (LIS).
If hubby needs regular mediciation it may be worth him applying for the pre-payment certificate
You can save money by buying a prescription prepayment certificate (PPC) if:- you pay for your prescriptions
- you’re likely to need several prescriptions throughout the year
- four prescription items in three months
- 14 prescription items in 12 months
- £28.25 for a 3-month PPC; and

Sorry to hear about you troubles Mary, if its not one thing its another. I have been having problems the last few days, my legs play up, the muscles dont work properly in them making me slow walking but the last few days have had bad pain as well so walking is a night mare, having to hold on to OH when we go anywhere.
The replacement mug came from Vista yesterday, they must have sent it out special as its only taken about 3 days from me complaining about the other one being broken on arrival.
Elysia - I have a pic of one of the denim quilts on my blog, nearly finished the second, just a bit more hand sewing to do to sew the binding on then need to put it through the wash to help it go a bit more shaggy then I can photo that one as well. Havent started on the last two yet.
Need to get sorted for my Dad's one, still havent got anyones message to embroider on it so think I will go and email everyone while I think about it and get them to do it for me.0
