    Hello all :j

OH seems to be getting about better now but only with the help of my walking frame............the painkillers seem to work for his back but not his leg. He thinks he must have a trapped nerve.

Susan -thanks for the frozen peas tip........haven't got peas but might sweetcorn do ? Mind you, not sure where abouts on his leg to put it.......seems to come from the hip area.

mum2one - I wondered if OH would get prescription free as he's classed as my Carer hence no income as such except my DLA which thankfully has now come through at last. A friend of ours called this morning and she seemed to think we could at least claim a refund on the taxi ride back from hospital as they should have made sure he got home safely themselves. Anythings worth a try.

rufus -sorry to hear you're suffering.........I do sympathise. I'm walking better than OH at the minute but been down the garden with foster daughter (needed my sticks) to pick out a few bits she wanted before it all gets cleared for a 'makeover' of sorts...........my word I knew I'd walked down there. Glad to sit down again.

Haven't done anything crafty or present like all week what with one thing and another. I really must get my other hat on -the one that doesn't have ''worry/fretful'' stamped on it...............lol

    Hi all

I'm been lurking for a long while, haven't got back into the swing of things since last year.

Mary, when DS was home I used to get carers allowance each week and never got anything free nor could you claim for anything.

You can only get them as a carer if you then apply for other benefits such as income support, credits etc. Perhaps he's eligible for some of these I think some of them are means tested.

    prescriptions

I know before xmas we did the "get the prescriptions before the mad rush" - came to with not just Easter we have the extra bank holiday off for the Royal Wedding, so anyone who needs regular mediciation -- get the orders in before the mad rush, (also allows for the chemist to order in if they have to) xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

gosh what a week i`ve had, been to hospital 3 times, tests , tests and more tests and dont you just love it when some results come through within 18 hours saying theres something wrong can you come back and the appointment is the week after next, cant be urgent then. And then they send yet another appointment for the same week. So I have a week off next week, Just as well I feel great....lol

DD has had problems with BF, the police was called, I do worry about her , she lives in Wales, in an house she`s renting, (she`s 18) and hasnt enough money to pay rent as he took all the money. I could lend it her but she pays far to much for house and wouldnt be able to make next months payment. She been everywhere to get a cheaper house but cant get one. Some estate agents want you to be 21 to rent. She been to council for their list of houses to rent and they no help.

What I need is a private rented flat/house for an 18 year old near Blackwood...lol dont ask for much do I?

Kids they`re hard work, and she dont want to come home, she loves living in Wales.

Sorry for the moan, i feel as if i`m chasing my tail trying to find her somewhere to live. Shes walking streets as well looking, asking everyone so anyone who lives within a 10 mile radius of Blackwood if you see any notices in windows of places for rent can you PM me, as I said I can find ones advertised with estate agents but shes not old enough

Susan, it might be worth asking the agents if they'll accept an 18 year old renter with a guarantor. When I was a student that's how I got my lovely flat :) and at the end my deposit back and a lovely thank you letter from the landlords for having kept the place so clean.

Long trip to the UK the last couple of weeks and it was lovely. And now I'm doing my own challenge, you're welcome to watch along if you like :)

    Santa's Challenge wise:

    Freezer
    Frost free :D

    Easter Eggs
We don't celebrate Easter so I'm lucky enough not to have to buy them - was very tempting looking at all the cheap chocolate in the supermarkets though.

    Colouring collection for younger children,
Bookmarking for future reference, thank you :)

    Schools and Easter planning
    Not yet, thankfully :D

Mum i'm bored... (big and old children!!)
I've found discounts on the Sea Life Centre, which is one of the places I'm planning to take the toddler, but we have an annual museum ticket and I'm planning to get one for the zoo as well. If DH and I take her twice and I take her once we save money - and we definitely will.

    Spring Cleaning
    On my list :(
But also on my list is organising a cleaner for a deep clean.

    Gardening
Sadly we lack a garden :( but I do have a potato growing kit and a grow your own herb garden kit that I am saving for when eventually I have my own garden.

    Mony saving bauty treatment
Does using something from my neverending stash count? I'm also planning a honey mask, I might even do that today!
Edit: made myself a chamomile tea and mixed the leaves with a spoonful of honey for the mask. It was gorgeous, thank you mum2one for inspiring me!)

    Organisation for bdays
All organised and I left my mother's day (and father's day!) presents with my parents. The next birthday I need to get a gift for is this weekend and I'm going to dip into my stash of nonspecific gifts, I think.

Oh, also I had an unexpected wedding thrust upon me, luckily the couple have asked for nontangible donations to their honeymoon fund and no "stuff" so we'll probably do that and I'm going to give them a couple of bottles of Crabbies (they love it and you can't get it here) plus two plastic glasses so it's a completely disposable gift ;)

Hope all's well, haven't caught up all the way because I've been away and not keeping up. Last time I was online Miss Hoodie was having some problems with girls in her class, how's that now? And Mary and Mr Mary?
Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
    Three gifts left to buy

    Hello all :j

OH still the same.............didn't get out of bed till 2.30pm and thats not like him at all.
His mate came up this morning and we had a look through a pile of wood that'll do for some raised beds he's doing for us then he went and got a paint chart and I've picked out paint for the garage.......that needs doing before anything else !
I want a long raised bed along the garage wall..........think the easiest way would be for this chap to make a long box(minus the bottom so it'll sit on the concrete, pop some pots inside with shrubs in and top it all up with soil and slate chippings so it looks like its all planted proper but isn't really. We did similar thing with herbs and bricks few years back and that worked ok.
Have to order the paint - 2 days wait and hate that still, gives chap a chance to repair a bit of guttering and clear the area of ''stuff''.

So, another day of being non-productive.........still not to worry..........maybe tomorrow ?:)

Had another Vista order this morning so went on to do another one, ordered a t-shirt for my bro saying artist of the family to go in his craft/art basket, also a notebook, had it with plain paper and called it a sketch book. Ordered a bag for my friend too. Wanted to order a couple of mugs for OH's young godsons. On the email they sent me the pic on the link to the free mugs has a chimp hanging by one hand on it which I thought would be brilliant for them but on looking have found that you have to pay £4 something for this design. Cant really find one suitable on the free designs so will leave it a bit and have a think, might be able to get some nice mugs up the town or something instead. I dont really want to pay £4 odd plus postage and tax would make them over a tenner each. Bit steep that I think.

I dont think I have anything else left to order from them for now, have all the bits I wanted for Christmas presents either already delivered or on order.

I went through a free mug link I had a last week and found this monkey design, is this the one you meant? It's coming up as free through this link so I hope it works for you too :D
