The Miss Hoodie saga, we've had it all 2ngt, had to borrow her computer, signed on under her email address - she'd got email from facebook thought that was a bit weird - she'd only gone and opened up an account for herself, - got friends that she didn't know who they were, one of her class mates - had put on the wall Miss Hoodie and xxxx looking for make friends contact either of us..... there 8.
I was that close to hitting the roof, thought the damage has been done, get it sorted quickly, agreed she could keep a facebook account, but it has to stay locked, and any friend requests she has to show me before accepting, she doesn't use it unless we know she's on it, but what shocked and disguisted me, (that most proberly sounds old fashioned), the fact that it was her school friend asking for male friends, i don't know the girls mother, but was going to write a note to say, you may need to cheek your daughters account, - but do you, don't you.
part of me wanted to delete Miss hoodies account, but I figured if I did that the 1st thing she would do is re-open another, so figured that let her keep it with a lot of restriction.
She said we wanted boys to talk to, - but don't think it sink in that sometimes people pretend to be boys, young girls when in fact their not, never mind if her dad had of found it, (hope to god he hasn't) what would I look like an unfit mother! Think shes learnt her lesson.
She missed out on her juice and cakes with the head for her merit award as the girl who was going as well from her class took one of the other girls with her instead of madam...
The good news is the bully is now her friend... I give up!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Oh dear Mum2one, kids are a constant worry! We have lots of children at school with facebook accounts and have recently sent out 'responsible and safe internet use' letters with information parents and children can look at together, help about how to keep them safe etc. We also use PSHCE and circle time to talk to the class about internet safety. I remember one time talking to the class about how everything on the internet isn't necessarily true, and that people could be lying, and they just didn't get it. They didn't understand why a grown up would lie about being a child! It's a very difficult conversation to have when you want to keep hem safe but without scaring them silly!
On another note, my Lloyds order arrived yesterdayI'm so pleased with it! I got 2 ladies perfume sets and they look excellent, I also got a man's aftershave set and that will probably be for DH's birthday. Then I got 2 bathy type hatboxes with lots of pedicure/feet lotion etc stuff in. The boxes are much bigger than I was expecting so it looks like a good size present. I'll probably be keeping one for myself
Finally I got a man's leather-type washbag with toiletries in as I never seem to have any spare men presents. Very pleased with it all!

Have you seen that the minicow purses are back on the Grabbit board?
Hard to keep up with kids' friendships mum2one, but I'm glad the bully problem is sorted. It's something that worries me for the future, if a kid is mean to Wee Beastie I'll probably loathe them, but then she'll forget and I'll be quietly seething at her new best friend!
Edit: I updated my spreadsheet earlier, and after my big ebay push I'm now only £23.32 away from a completely neutral spend on gifts this year, plus I have managed to get rid of a lot of stuff :jOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Mum2one I know what your going through! My daughter is 8 and has started asking can she have a facebook account. I told her we'll talk about it next year but for now if she wants to talk to her friends on-line she can do it through MSN.
I have just cashed in another £10 on opinionworld and £5 on my survey so have had enough to buy the sylvanian restaurant for my daughter for her birthday. Really pleased that this year she will be getting loads of things that she hasn't asked for but it hasn't cost me anything extra!0 -
Morning all!
Have you seen the Funkypigeon page? If you're referred by someone then you get 50% off your order (personalised cards, notebooks etc) and the referrer gets £3. I've put my referral code on the referrers' board so if you wanted to send Mothers Day/birthday cards it's 50% off. I wanted to send some to postpals now my own stuff is all done.
Also, I forgot to check my TCB and have £27.27 heading my way at the end of April, which will make me money neutral on gifts for the year :j:jOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Leg still bad, rung doctors this morning, said no appointments but will get doctor to ring me, thought lot of good that will do showing him my leg over the phone lol. Just rung and said they need to see me so to ring up again after 2 and get an appointment for this afternoon (if I can get one that is).
I have finished the second denim quilt, photo on my blog, its just about the same as last one but different colours used. I had already nearly finished when asked to do a tutorial so can't really do one but am just about to start on next one which I will be making it up as I go along without the foggiest idea of how it will turn out so will photo it as I go and see what happens.0 -
Hello all :j
One of those days when I can't get my head round doing anything......OH and me seem to be making inane conversation about discussion programme on the radio............lol
He's still suffering and needs the walking frame......what a carry on. He doesn't see the point in ringing the doctor -he can't get to the surgery anyway and thinks he'll just be given yet more painkillers of one sort or another. Oh well, time will heal as they say.
rufus -sorry to hear you're still suffering. I'm not too bad today though I do feel it round my legs and lower back.........think I did too much walking yesterday in and out the garden.
Just realised friends birthday is coming up and I don't know what on earth to give her. She normally has a bag of bits and pieces I've made but I've been lacking in that area this year so really scratching my head. Maybe I'll have to go through some drawers and recycle something............lol She'll understand.:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

The Miss Hoodie and facebook, what her friend has been typeing is unbelievable, sat Miss Hoodie down, we did come to some agreements over it, but shes asked me if I can close her account down, she doesn't want the hassle!! Phew - my mind had been going overtime what happens if her father saw it - knowing him he'd use it in court, luckly didn't have to go down that route.
Just says it all, had a lady today who came to do my DLA form, and she turned round and said without even going through the form I can see you need dla, but theres a chance your get it rejected, but don't worry we're help you will the appeal.... it just says it all.
Had a really good night tonight, took dad to the theatre, the play was a bit weird, there only 4 actors and dark thriller, good - thou I've broke a flaming tooth on a chocolate eclair, so got to ring the dentist in the morning, know they say life begins at 40, but didn't expect the 1st day to on the phone to the dentiist, - guess I'm leaving 39 behind with a bang!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
