I had a Vista order turn up this morning, everying nice in it, finished off the bits for nieces (that are coming from Vista) and one great niece. Still a few more to go. Will do another one next week as get paid then. I got a bag with the heart design on it and her name under neath, looks lovely, wishing I had done the same for the mug as I got one of the flowery designs on the mug and it doesnt show up so much. Still, it has her name on so it will do with some sweets in it and done up with cello and a bow should look nice.

Did another line of the poem last night, there are 8 lines altogether and I have done 3 so far. Pleased with how it is coming out.

Off to town this morning, have to go to bank as Dad gave me a fiver yesterday as I had got a cd for him from Amazon and someone has cleverly pulled the metal strips out from one end so they are still attached one end but dangling and look like they might tear off any minute. Hope the bank will accept it and I can pay it in, may be then I can do another Vista order with it.

Esmer wish I lived near you to be able to test our all the yummy things you post. Any time I bake it never turns out like anything recognisable heheh oh well practice makes perfect.

Rufus - well done on vista getting nieces sorted and on the embroidery too.

cdsmiler - I'm afraid I'm no help whatsoever with wee one as I don't have any myself. Could it be something as simple as the birds in the morning - I know I've been woken the last week or so quite early by a bunch of birds hanging out in the tree outside my bedroom window so maybe just a noise out of the ordinary that is unsettling her a bit?

  • esmer - wow! They're all lovely!

KiWi - lol thanks. I did wonder if the neighbours were getting up early and waking her, but I don't know for certain....

Lisi - well done you! I'm so impressed!!

mhagster - happy hogmanay to the head lice! lol

Big wave to everyone. Shattered this morning. Little madam was up every few hours in the night - no reason for it either. As soon as she was picked up out of her cot she just wanted to go back to sleep in my arms. As soon as I put her back in her cot (even times when she seemed fast asleep and SNORING! lol) 4/5 times she'd start crying! She was fine, she'd had her middle of the night bottle....oh and she's been waking between 5 and 6am for about a week now too. Normally it's after 6am and commonly between 6.30 and 7. Any thoughts on what could be up? I'm wondering if the 5am waking is that she's a bit cold? Our heating goes on at 6am so it's one of the coldest parts of the night - BUT she has a seperate electric radiator on in her room all night anyway and the thermometer on her monitor shows the room as being a nice temperature....sorry, rambling. Any thoughts? She's not teething majorly at the moment either, eating well..... she's 14 months. Hmmmmm.

    Have a good day all!

    Hiya,

I found that when DD did wake up and it started to be the same time everyday, she was having a growth spurt. I increased her food during the day and she stopped waking up. She stopped having bottles at a year old. She was a BIG baby, and is a big girl now (very tall) Also I did controlled crying, if I knew she was not wet, dirty, hungry or indeed had wind. I would go and check onher and see she was ok. Didnt make eye contact, or any interaction, then left the room because then its attention. She got the message and went back to sleep.

Im lucky she has slept through since 8 weeks old, last feed was 1030pm, then up at 530/6pm. now she is three, she sleeps 7 til 7. does get up now and again, and that was teething, hungry or wanting into my bed :rotfl:packed off back to her own room. I was strict with her sleeping, and it has paid off. Was not nice at the time, I just wanted to hold her. Thankfully I stuck to my guns, cause a single mum and a baby wanting your attention at all ours would equal a very crabby tired mummy.

Sorry....... went on a bit there. :rotfl:

Thanks esmer. We've done controlled crying in the past an generally she's an angel! She loves going up to bed (we've always had a strict bed time and routine from VERY early on - was the best thing we ever did), has a bottle and book in her room, then she goes down awake and normally is fast asleep within 10 minutes. Except for over Christmas where she gave us quite a few uninterupted nights and slept through completely, she normally wakes once for a small bottle in the night (between 12 and 2 normally) and goes straight back to sleep instantly after (she's awake once she's finished drinking and is put in her cot, but goes off REALLY quickly bless her!! lol). So we don't mind the interuption seeing as it's that quick!

She was born smallish (6lb 10oz) but has always been slim for a baby but quite long. Her weight gain has always been good and she's gone up quite a few percentiles so I'm not worried about weight gain, but she was a little slower with eating food with textures (not from want of trying on our part! lol). She's mostly a fantastic eater now though and will eat almost ANYTHING we give her - over the past 4 months she has had the odd day where she seems to hardly eat anything but always makes up for it the day after. The last 2 weeks though she has eaten REALLY well...... maybe that and the waking means she is having a growth spurt..... I certainly don't want to give her a bigger bottle in the middle of the night (that's my long term aim to move her off bottles, but she LOVES her milk so I'm not going to push it too quickly!).... hmmmmm.

    Sorry, rambling! lol

my DD hates milk, so your lucky there. But she does eat her own body weight in Cheese. Maybe introduce a snack at 10am, and 3pm as long as it doesnt mess with dinner time, a bit of fruit or something. Dont increase the milk. :) It kills you when you get a run of them not sleeping.................. hope its only a short spell x
