flying visit
nipped round my dads at the weekend gave him 6 hm chocolate muffins and a cross stitch tractor id done he was really pleased.
doing a crossstitch pin cushion for my mil for mothers day at the mo.
hope all are well. mary dont worry or be embarrassed as everyone has said they prefer clean heads, when my kids get them i use loads of conditioner and a fine toothed comb - schools advise every 3 days while you have them untill a couple of times when you get none out. that way you know you havent missed any hatchlings. I tend to put the fine comb through my youngests hair onbce a week to make sure nohing is lurking and hes been nit free for over two years.
hugs to those in want of one, dashing in and out as its 1/2 term so got youngest home (his brothers at a 2 day residential and DD is out today with college. also got he decorators in so house is bedlam.SPC~12 ot 124

I'm hoping you wonderful ladies can help me - I have been trawling the internet for a few days and coming up pretty much blank so can anyone help me find the cheapest possible cellophane bags (need about the size of a freezer bag) and the cheapest dog and cat stickers.
I've got a bit of a fundraising idea for the animal sanctuary I help out at but need to price it up and then see if I can make it all work and everything I'm spotting is still quite expensive so want to know all the options before I start all steam ahead.

Hi KiWi
I used these bags from Lakeland at Christmas, product No 12007
(sorry I'm not allowed to post a link as a new user)
£2.79 for 50
With the cost of postage it would be better if you were ordering something else too. They were quite flimsy, as one of the reviews said, but fine for home baked gifts which is what I used them for.
All the best

Thanks Kim - unfortunately I would never really order anything else out of Lakeland to make it worth ordering those bags and with the postage it just wouldn't be viable for my idea.
I appreciate you posting though as I hadn't even thought of there.

Hello all :j
susan - well done with your new ''skill''........does help if you can focus on something like that when you're recovering.
Megga thanks for all the ''clean head'' compliments..............lol I've always been fussy about my hair (such as it is.........)
Me and OH put this stuff on he got from chemist last night...............it said best to leave on overnight....! Well it was clear stuff so had a job to see how much I'd put on...............then it says on the bottle that we'll still feel itchy for a day or two............or maybe more................lol
Have to repeat the whole thing next Tuesday then got a girl who lives across the road to come over next Friday and chop a load off for me. Needs a good cut anyway and it''ll be easier for me to tell if I've got rid of them all -or not  Someone recommended tea tree oil shampoo so might try that.
Not done much today -chap came to repaint the stairs now the extra rails been put up and being half term (ggrrrr !!) our lads mates have been round. Did manage to get couple more 'patchwork' christmas cards done though so thats something.
Oh, forgot to say yesterday............OH went to fracture clinic and was told not to go back anymore as he's ok:T He said he was and nearly didn't go but I told him he had to just in case.
So what with that and the grant news......yesterday was really a good day............in spite of head lice................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi all....Still going strong ...thanks for all the support!!
Mary - Your not the only one love. We have got our great nephews to stay and they brought their "friends & family" with them. I put them straight in bath when they arrived and cleared their heads only to scratch my head later on and pull out a little friend. Had to go and get more lotion today so got to do all of us again!!! Little !!!!!!s they are ....the lice not my nephews lol
Not much going on aapart from having the boys over....DD has got a kidney infection so visit to doctor today. The thing is she gets bad back pain but more towards her ribs...so they never think its a infection until they do the urine check then they know for sure!!!
Pie for DH & the boys and salmon for me & DD tonight!! Yum
Much love lisi xxNever buys anything at full price unless completely forced to do so!!! :whistle:0 -
Oooh salmon sounds nice toothfairy, glad you doing do well xx0

Hello all :j
What a day.............started off with backache as I slept in odd position so didn;t do much this morning except write letter and do three 'patchwork' christmas cards (not sure I like them).
haven't got the hang of multi quotes - so just go for hit and miss!!
Didn't do much, 3 patchwork cards would take me all week.
Friend called I'd not seen for ages then got phone call from council to say we can have grant for alterations to house :T
Thats brill about friend, and doubly wow, about the grant, that is absolutely amazing, - you may find that they send in 2 or 3 people for quotes and your answering the same questions over and over again, but we've had lovely people doing ours.
Just feeling ecstatic about all that, felt itchy head and ran comb through it and what do you know........I got head lice  Oh the shame, shock and horror !! OHs gone to chemist to collect some magic stuff to get rid of them. Don''t know where I got them but chemist know I've not been long out of hospital and said I could have brought them home with me:eek: Oh heck.................
Ah - are you sure you haven't been to Miss Hoodies school, nearly every week on the school letter - theres a comment for one of the classes about headlice.
Don't forget to treat hubby and anyone else in the house, - what we use once a week is a tea tree shampoo and conditioner, as they don't like it, just like a gentle reminder that there not welcome, we just use own label, does the job.
Shall now want to hide away somewhere and shave my hair all off in embarassment.................
I thought only kids got that sort of thing -oh dear I feel so ashamed and here I am telling you all about it................:(
Sorry.................................:(
Never mind.............as I've said before.........there are worse things...........aren't there ???
Don't be daft, just get a clothes peg as some of the lotions can be stinky, - Miss hoodie had them when we were on hols, when I asked in the chemist in a supermarket, didn't guite want to say we have nits - so said to the lady we have visitors, pointing to the head, bless her she said I think you might need the bakery department, and freezer section - in the main store!! she laughed when I said no head lice.... thou she liked the expression xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Keeping it Christmassy!
2 years ago , I noticed dd2 had head lice...went through everyone & we all had them
Quick dash to chemist on Christmas Eve and we all had to be treated.....so as well as hanging up our stockings we had to have horrible lotion on our hair overnight.....repeat one week later....Hogmanay!
Not a good look!0 -
Lisi - well done you! I'm so impressed!!
mhagster - happy hogmanay to the head lice! lol
Big wave to everyone. Shattered this morning. Little madam was up every few hours in the night - no reason for it either. As soon as she was picked up out of her cot she just wanted to go back to sleep in my arms. As soon as I put her back in her cot (even times when she seemed fast asleep and SNORING! lol) 4/5 times she'd start crying! She was fine, she'd had her middle of the night bottle....oh and she's been waking between 5 and 6am for about a week now too. Normally it's after 6am and commonly between 6.30 and 7. Any thoughts on what could be up? I'm wondering if the 5am waking is that she's a bit cold? Our heating goes on at 6am so it's one of the coldest parts of the night - BUT she has a seperate electric radiator on in her room all night anyway and the thermometer on her monitor shows the room as being a nice temperature....sorry, rambling. Any thoughts? She's not teething majorly at the moment either, eating well..... she's 14 months. Hmmmmm.
Have a good day all!
