Evening everyone
Yesterday in Wilkinsons they had a couple of white towels with a blue pattern on that were reduced to about £2 or £2.50, was umming and ahhing over them wondering if one would go in the basket I bought to do eldest daughter's hamper. Couldnt remember what colour the toiletry stuff was that I was given so left it. Went back today to see if they had any left, the blue and white ones had gone but they had some nice cream and brown ones, they are bath size and were reduced to £2.50. The toiletries are blue coloured so the other towel would have gone but the basket is lined with brown fabric so think if I stick to browns and blues it will all go together.
Finished the embroidered poem, wont do a pic until I finish the whole cushion (might be a while as some other bits to do first). Need to collect some brown coloured fabrics anyway first to make it out of.
Have a job to do over the weekend so wont get much done in the way of sewing. We started stripping the paint off our front door the other day as the paint was all drippy and awful. Have done about a third of it so need to get the rest done and sanded down ready for painting. Trouble is I cant reach all of it, some is too high for my arms to reach with my dodgy arms, and some is too low to reach where I cant bed properly. OH is off all weekend but doesnt like anything too strenuous lol, he was all right doing the flat bits but left all the awkward bits round the panels, said we can paint over the top lol. I said no we are not painting over the top, it will look a mess, so looks like I will have to find a way of doing it myself or it wont get done.0 -

Hi All
I've seen several of you mention Vista orders, can someone tell me what its all about please? Thanks very much
Kim xxx
Hi Kim
The site is
www.vistaprint.com
they do all items that can be personalised, cotton bags, notebooks, business cards, mugs, you name it they do it.
They have a freebies section, and you can order upto 4 free items, and just pay postage, you can choose, 7, 14, or 21 day postage, (think its Holland they come from)
Once your registered, they send special offers to your inbox, you can get some really good bargains,
If your signed up for cashback, (the sister thread money making - link on page 1 - they do the money in, we do the spending etc this side), but topcashback and quidco both give 1 set of cashback per month, helps pay towards postage.
I'm a friends and family Sunday lunch for my 40th, its been a family tradation that I've done party bags (did my parents 40th wedding anniversay and mums 60th), this time everyone is having free items from Vistaprint, - so when I've had an offer grabbed items, I've ordered banners for the school.
Example orders (the items were free)
T-shirt - printed on front pic of Miss Hoodie (my DD)
Set of personalised notecards
Pen - name and personal message on
Small banner for school - designed to advertise carboot
The postage for 21day deleivery was about £6.50
But the proper price of the goods-
Tshirt £7
Notecards £9
Pen £2.50
Banner £15
With your order, you get a leaflet offering free items, such as mug, return address labels.
You can save a fortune, - at xmas, we did Snowman soup (hot choc sachet, candy sticks, + marshmellows and a poem, but everyone had a personalised mug, for school - Headmaster, teacher, the ta,
personal - one for GP, the ladies at surgery all had normal mugs.
its very addictive xx
Tsxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Thanks Mum2One, that sounds great. I'll have a look.
Have a good weekend

I did an order yesterday eve, wanted mug, cotton bag and notebook, thought I would add a t shirt for one of the GSons but when in basket it was charging 6.99 so removed it and tried again, this time it was half price but still didnt want it so just removed it and went for the three items this time. Will try again in a couple of weeks time when I get the next mug.0

Need to do another 15 and thats it:T OH thinks I've lost the plot but there's not much else I can do and at least they'll be done well in time for Christmas at this rate.
Weird day weatherwise.............rain, then sunshine then the heavens opened ! Meant OH had to stay in the pub and have another pint till it left off................lol (poor soul).......:rotfl:

Well done on getting the cards done Mary, so glad you are getting a good nights sleep now xx0

Mary - that sounds really positive with the xmas cards, do what you can when you can, and its keeping your hand in.
Sometimes with vistaprint, if you have 2 emails with offers and try to mix and match it can get a bit tempermental and start adding all different prices in, I had that the other night after an hour, nearly threw the laptop out of the window, but as it was money saving perserved, and got there in 2 different orders, saved a fortune.
Been spending (not all mse), met some friends for lunch, the food was amazing, I was spolit for choice, and had same as went last time, pork loim steak in an apple and roceqfort sauce, with bacon mash, Miss Hoodie was so funny, she had 5oz gammon, got pineapple and egg, when it came it was fresh pineapple, she picks it up, (I just went red!!) and says oh its not like the pineapple rings we get at the other pub!! no darling this is fresh pineapple.
we all decided to skip pub, and went 12 miles up the road and to an icecream farm.... icecream then a gorgeous cake, maderia cake with whitechoc and cranberry butter type icing (esmer - thinking of you!!)
Have beeen very mse after that - need a new wardrobe for my room, and Miss Hoodie has got the same one, but its too big for her room, she's got an l shaped room, - so thought save love to shop vouchers and get her the complete set, and I'll have her wardrobe, - saw one in Argos, - £160 - have to wait - went on line last night, been reduced to £80
Measured up, she'll get everything in the room, - got to the till to order it, gave the cashier my lts vouchers thought got £41 I hadn't I'd got £51 - so cost me £28 - really pleased and Miss Hoodie is - thou dads face was a picture, coz he thought he was only going to have to put a wardrobe together - no daddy darling you have the wardrobe, chester draws, and bedside cabnet, due end of March. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I never know what to buy/order at vista :undecided I guess I am just not as imaginative as you guys.Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
I never know what to buy/order at vista :undecided I guess I am just not as imaginative as you guys.
The notebooks are nice Diddly, you can have either plain paper which is what I get for any arty types so they can draw in it as well as take notes or you can get lined paper like a normal note book. Also the cotton bags are nice especially if you have young girls to buy for, I have been getting them for my Great Nieces and Nieces. The mugs I have started getting now with their names on and I am going to fill them with sweets nearer the time and wrap in cellow. I am thinking of getting the boys t shirts if I can get them to go through free. They have one design which says Made In and you put the year they were born which I think is quite nice for boys. If you still need another item there are the free pens or the key rings, may be baseball cap for boys?0
