  • Once you get the details, what are you going to do.

To enforce it , i assume it would become a neighbour dispute and would need to go to court to be enforced.

no wonder we have neighbourhood disputes , with people being so petty about this.

You need to let this one go before you turn into a bitter blob. It will cost you dearly to win and what are you left with? All the cars blocking the streets and your smashed windows. It makes no difference to no one.

Is it not better that the neighbours park in the communal car park rather than on the street? I'd be very surprised if the rights to use the spaces haven't been passed from landlord to tenant.
And even if you find out they can't use the car park I would personally not want to leave my car somewhere where I know I'd p***ed off 8 sets of neighbours by telling them not to park there.

I don't know for sure obviously, but I suspect that OP is fed up because there are not enough spaces in the communal car park, which is resulting in him not being able to park his own car despite the fact he has paid for a space. In those circumstances, and if the rules of the building are that only owners have the right to park there, then it's not unreasonable to investigate the situation and the abuse which has been levelled at him on this thread is uncalled for. Often flats have allocated parking for one car each, which is usually sufficient if the flat contains one family unit, but woefully inadequate if the flat is let out to 2 or 3 adults each with their own vehicle.

Choose to live in an overcrowded cesspit then this is the price you pay. If you don't want parking issues, don't live in London or any other major city except on the outskirts.

My lord - rly? You are honestly saying that you feel the tenents have lesser rights than owners?

Parking is carp all over the country whether you rent or own. It's not the renters fault, it's a symptom of planning laws and design. It was your choice to buy at that location.

We have on-road permit parking on our street and there are probably spaces for about 50% of the cars. We all have to suffer that regardless of whether we rent and the overspill parks on a different road.

A better option might be asking your building manager or whoever to allocate spaces so that each flat has a numbered space or 2 permits per flat.
