    I find them ok:)

Me too, but I think we're in the minority. :o
    £2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£2021
  • They are a joke. If you don't move your money they will either lose it or give it away. Speaking from experience. They are a shambles and below proves it. Be warned.
The only reason I still do any business with this bunch of !!!!!! is because I live near a branch ATM and can deposit my business cash and cheques 24/7. I am beginning to wonder if even this great facility is enough to keep me. The incompetence I have experienced with this bank has been less severe than many people have been though but I'm close to having had enough.
    .
  • Incompetence beyond belief, how can you get it wrong 35,000 times ? Do they not pay a team to make sure this does not happen ? were they all asleep that day ? I can understand government departments making enormous mistakes (HMRC, etc) because they have made their systems over complicated and they don't have to hold up a customer reputation to stay in business, they take our money and everyone hates them, but we can not leave them for another tax office.

However Santander make stupid mistakes opening peoples personal finances to anyone, the stress and worry that your account could be raided at any time - my advice close the account, that way the account number and sort code are then useless. They are an appalling bank and have only grown bigger by steeling money from their poorer customers. In 2011 I will be Santander free and get myself a proper bank account, its just like giving your wallet to an idiot and saying can you look after this for me.
  • ive just noticed that im a victim of the wrong statement fiasco. the banks wont be open till wed. and i cant get through on the ph as its boxing day. im terrified as to who has my details. what can i do now. :(
  • - my advice close the account on Wednesday morning withdraw any cash, cancel direct Debits, etc and open a new account with the cash (alternative bank), that way the account number and sort code are then useless to any criminal. Santander must refund any losses between now and then, and make sure you claim the full £100 compensation for distress and inconvenience.

Check penalties before you stop all DDs and SOs (don't want to be kicked out of your home for not paying rent). I would advise closing your account and moving for no other reason than peace of mind and the fact that they are completely rubbish.
Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.
  • Happy that i left Santander

I hope mine's gone elsewhere. My betting transactions being revealed to a random stranger are well worth a hundred quid.
  • Santander have just purchased £1.3 billion of mexican mortgages from GE.
With the Mexican economy reliant on drugs money it doesn't look like the best investment.
