How will you know your info has been sent to someone else rather than simply been 'lost in the post'?0

Nationalise the ALL the banks tomorrow.
Put everyone on £20,000 a year including the cashiers, the statement printers, their directors and the traders, and anyone that shows the slightest lack of integrity in the pursuit of excellence on behalf of the customers (us) should be sacked on the spot.
The remainder had better behave themselves long term or risk deportation to Helmand to count grains of sand / poppy seed / IEDs if they pretend to be fair-minded but prove to be conniving like we all think most of them are.
Spivs over 40 shall be retired forthwith on the basic state pension and their private pension funds commandeered to lend to small businesses which also pass a stringent integrity test which involves a vice like device connected around the genitals of the principals/directors and linked to a lie detector.0 -
Don't you get so suspicious when a so called NEW BROOM comes in with all the fanfare and self praise and look how they turn out!!!
I fell for it and nothing has gone right - they are a shower
Where did the culture of balls up come from???0 -

This could be the tip of a very big iceberg!
It's not as black and white as you suggest. No pun intended.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -

After banking with Abbey for over 15 years....
Last 6 months have been a nightmare-6 months for them to action a change of address-my new home was not a new build-3 branch visits and numerous phone calls-no statement for months.
Cheque-8 weeks to receive a cheque book, once again told by call centre ordered-then told not-2 visits to a branch-even saw a manager after I refused to leave-again told one had not been ordered-eventually 3 arrived all in same within 4 days - 10 weeks later.
Standing order-I only have one on my account- 3 visits - again called centre calls- I only wanted to increase amount and bring forward the date-they cancelled it by accident, then got the amount right ....then date wrong.
On all accounts I have dealt with level 1 and 2 complaints- had full names and times - complaints have dealt with some of the issues wrongly-I have letters to say address has been amended - sent to wrong address and neighbour has given me!!!!!!
I have been given full names and told that I can speak to them again level 2 complaints-then not allow-even though calm,,,,,
As I have an FSA background - on all accounts I have threaten to take to FSA AND even if complaint is not up held it would cost them £500 to investigate and bank would be billed.....
Hay - I am also one of the clients that has been effected by this carry on-with wrong statement-they have not been pro-active-nothing on their website-that is clear -no phone call etc....
I did however receive my £100...
Why are they so ???
has any one else had these problems0 -

Why are you worried? It's a statement.
not sure how to get the quotes thing right - but, loko - because its a statement with my name, bank account and sort code on - pretty easy in the wrong hands to then go access my money dont you think??????0 -
People are justifiably worried magoogy because a recent bank statement is accepted as a front-line identity document. Coupled with a passport from an obscure EU country which few UK bank staff might recognise as a fake if it was a fake, then before you know it someone could have been to a branch of a major bank and opened another account in your name, perhaps with a matching overdraft facility.
Then who do you think suffers all the problems if the overdraft gets max'd out and defaults? And maybe they have used your good credit record to get a decent sized personal loan for Christmas whilst they were at the bank? They wouldn't exactly be worrying about the interest rate now would they?
Similarly, if the bank statement shows considerable available funds, then that might identify the unfortunate unwitting Santander client as a worthwhile target for other types of ID fraud or account takeover.
It's only a statement? Yes well ... think again0 -
Sounds more like OTM? And if this article is to be believed then Mailcom doesn't look to have been much of a loss. With a couple of Phoenixed companies and a load of debt left behind :-
..... but it does look as though Santander doesn't make wise choices.
Yep, not sure I would believe anything that comes out from them at the moment! My mate reckons its definately IOS but it doesnt really matter who its with the fact they can send our details to other customers is just a joke - it's not exactly rocket science is it? Actually, I might buy a few typewriters and throw my hat in the ring!0 -
Doesn't look good for Santander, if it's not one thing it's another going wrong =/0
