Thanks, the 02 guy put all the settings in which he got from their website but it didn't work.

If you still haven't resolved the issue, ring CS and ask them to send the settings, tell them you have an HTC Wildfire. Same settings for both.

THanks d123, still not resolved. I've put the settings in but it just won't connect. I'm tempted to try Giffgaff, but I've got £17 left on the 02 sim. And as I've got free texts, no internet, make very few calls and can't change 02 tariff for another 3 weeks, its going to last for ever.
    Cheers

Then I got a GiffGaff sim and installed it. Very easy. I just put £10 of credit on there and £10 "goody bag" which allows unlimited internet for a month, with no contract.

    .

OH asks was the "goody bag" in addition to the £10 top up or part of?

He's just had a OSF from Argos that came with a pre-paid Orange SIM that doesn't work. A waste of £10. Repeated calls to Orange customer non-service have been fruitless so we've ordered free SIMS from GiffGaff.

So, is that £20 to get going with Gifgaff?

To get your £10 goodybag you first need to get a SIM card and activate it online. If you already have an active SIM card you can purchase this goodybag from the top-up page.
I am not with giffgaff, but this looks pretty straightforward to me.

Just checked my email and answered my own question; the goody bags are in addition to the top up. From what I've read on the GiffGaff site, I'm looking forward to using my new SIM. I ordered one for me after hubby ordered his.

    Up yours Orange.

I have some noob questions about this phone.

Is it possible to re-arrange the icons in the menu screen (not the homepage) so that I have the items I use most often to the top?

Can I create folders within the menu screen and place say all my games in it?

Is it possible to set a quick dial on this phone?

I've tried looking in the instructions for the answers but can't find any.

Not that I am aware of...

This is what your app drawer is for, android isn't like windows... instead of going through folder after folder to find what you want you just access the app drawer and find what you want. Althought what you can do is go into Settings>> Profiles>> Manage App Groups and then create groups from there.
Is it possible to set a quick dial on this phone?
Not very easily on android 2.1, have you considered upgrading to a 2.2/2.3 ROM? What you can do on 2.1 is add shortcuts to contacts on your homepage. Do the following:

On one of your homepages tap and hold the screen. Tap on 'Shortcuts' then tap on 'Contact'. Pick a contact and it will be added to your homepage and now you can access them easily.

If you like you can dedicate one of your homepages as a speed dial page full of your most used contacts.
