Think its a superb little handset. Yes could do with a faster processor but for the money its peerless0

Why 'little'? I think very few handsets are bigger than OSF, e.g. Desire HD.0

Just sacked Orange. Went into the 02 shop and upgraded my PAYG sim. I now get free internet and 300 free texts. I pay £10 and the calls come out of that. I don't make many calls. I'll give it a try for a month. no committment. The guy did the upgrade there and then and the confirmation texts came through to the sim card in my old phone. I've now put the sim in the OSF but there's no 3G and the texts from 02 don't show up. When I look at what network its on, it says 02, other texts work to my old number and it is unlocked.

If so, I think you have to change some settings in OSF:
Messages >> Menu >> Settings >> Service Center (search O2 site for the correct number)0 -
Yes the messages from 02 don't show up on the OSF. I've put my old sim on 02, and upgraded, into the OSF so I retain my existing number. Its working because other texts are coming throught, just not the ones from 02 and no internet.

It may be just me, but I don't understand anything. Do you have two active O2 sims - one in OSF and the other in another phone?
Or messages from the network don't show? If so, why are you sure that there were any messages?0 -

I have purchased an OSF on PAYG because my wife wanted to join the smartphone set and I thought this phone would be a sound handset to try stuff out and find out what's what.
I'd like some advice from the more savy amongst you on what if anything I should do to improve what we got out of the box. I intend to unlock the phone at some point and then see what other PAYG deals are about.
What I dont know is if the "Orange" branding and apps are a bad thing and if so should I think about removing them. If so which ones or should I install a fresh version of android.
In my position what would be the first thing you would do? - Guess I'm asking for trouble! No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
