2) the only way a person can gain entitlement to a share in another persons house is to either pay for some major work, such as an extension to the house or make regular committed mortgage payments preferably direct from their bank account to the lender, or to marry the owner of the property in which case the divorce courts have wide powers to adjust the shares in the property. Wrong. The other way an unmarried person can gain entitlement to a share in another person's house is on the whim of a judge. The courts have very wide discretion and if the property had been called 'our home' for example or an individual has contributed to minor DIY/ household bills / food (which may in practice be indistinguishable from contributions to mortgage payments) then judges can and do award a portion of the house to one party simply because they lived in the property.0 -

It seems quite likely to me that Yvonne13 has seen the situation as 'living together' whilst the bf has seen himself as an overnight guest in which case offering to pay would be inappropriate. I have someone who regularly stays over at my place - I'd be horrified if they offered to pay! Doesn't mean the bf is a dead loss, only that there has been a different understanding of the situation by the two parties. I've seen this happen all the time. Probably best they split, though.0 -
I had a bf once who was staying 6 nights out of 7, but not living with me. But he was really living at his mum's. He never had a bath at mine and I never fed him. He'd come round after his tea at about 7-8pm, then go home about 6am to have breakfast and pick up his packed lunch at home/his mum's.
Yours isn't a keeper.... get rid.0 -

Maybe the "service" isn't up to scratch and to offer payment would be insulting........0 -

guy comes in after his son splits up with his GF and is sat on his bead with his hands over his face
"I know it's hard son"
"Hard ?? ?" His son suddenly exclaiims - "You bet it's hard, It took me two hours to convince her it was her idea"
anyway hopes for a good christmas :beer:Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
