Being a BTL LL is a business in the same way a drug dealer runs a business.

No it isn't. Its not illegal for starters.

Pretty difficult to live in a house made out of ketamine too.

Yet another example of what is going on, decent people/familys living under the roof of a dirty little drug dealer.
The sooner an investigation into laundered money in the property BTL business the better.

I wonder if that is GHOULIES that's just been done?

And talking on the mobile while driving around in the TT. TutTut.

Thought I'd wade in on this one here...

Personally I do like the idea of an individual, or couple in the eyes of the law, being limited to one place of primary residence and one holiday home in the UK only. BTL does serve the needs of those that cannot afford to buy however I would rather a government body administrate this under a benefits system. Of course some people will read this last line and their butthole will clench so tight you could put coal up their and crap out a diamond however it is no different that assessing housing benefit under a income-based system currently in place and in effective reform.

Those owning additional homes under BTL (i.e. above the 2 home limit) could potentially lose out if the transition to this limit was not properly managed over a pre-determined 'selling period' otherwise its as simple as moving one form of investment to another.

This is a brief off-the-top-of-my-head response so forgive any glaring gaps in reasoning.

    Coeus.

    Really, I didn't know that.
The government must be coining it in from the revenues made on drugs taxes.

I just hate BTL and most of the reptile landlords out there, whats the problem?

My no'1. hate is people like Sting who clings to £200m in wealth, yet at the same time talks about unfairness in the world! It just beggars belief and is the lowest f the low.
Give away £198m Sting, and help hungry children - build them a village with a school.

Yup, just like Liveaid where we had to endure a bunch of hypocrite celebrities getting up in front of us and saying that people are starving in africa. Funny really because alot of these people were worth £100m+ and could give away 90% of this money without it impacting their std of living AT ALL.
I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j

I would love to give a few detailed examples on here but i would honestly fear for my saftey

    How many landlords do this?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Exactly what I've been saying, yet we keep falling for it.
Lenny Henry has to be worth several tens of millions and I bet he clings to the vast bulk of it.

Billy Braggs mansion is Dorset is completely at odds with his fly the reg flag polemic.

Tony Benn has £5m in real estate alone - yet believes in fairness and re-distribution.

These people are worse than Bankers, as at least Bankers don't pretend they dont like money.

The most gut wrenching thing I see is the public fawning over these fat cats being interviewer by Parky or who ever. Always remember they are there being interveiwed because they want to promote thier latest stuff and get even richer, and yet we celebrate these duds.

Even Dame Judy Dench and Victoria Wood fall into this category of fat cat greedy people

I don't see the problem with BTL owners, they have taken advantage of a need for rented properties, I do not like the way some of them run their businesses but I don't think the concept of BTL is bad, if done right.

With regards to the above comments... One thing that always makes me Laugh is how Steve Jobs is seen as Jesus like in the tech world, and Bill Gates is seen as the devil, even though Bill Gates has given more to charity then any other human being alive :)
