BTL, vile lowlife business, nobody wants to be living under their roofs

I think a lot of people who slate landlords are just jealous and probably won't even own 1 home let alone > 1.
Also, why should rich people give away their money? Just because you don't have it doesn't mean you can expect someone else to give it to you.
If you want something go out and earn it the same way they had to and if they were born into it, hey ho, lucky persons but that's just life. Sick of people on low wages blaming everyone else for their misfortunes. If you are on minimum wage go to college and learn something that won't pay minimum wage or use a bit of savvy and start your own business.
There was a post on here yesterday re some bloke starting a grass cutting service, he has been unemployed for 6 months. Wish him every success and so wish there were more folk like him. He's not wingeing or whining. He has an idea and is going to do something about it.0 -
The trouble is with BTLers, a few seem to have given the majority a bad name. My experience of BTLers first hand has been bad (when I rented my first place) but I know people who own properties and really take care of their clients. When i lived in my first rented accomodation, it was two young lads (22/23) who had bought 3 between them, they didn't repair anything in the property while we lived there and then tried to take our protected deposit when we left. I got the feeling that they felt like they owned us and not the property, all because they could get a yes from the bank for a BTL mortgage.
I think the trouble is, a lot of them think of it as owning the property outright, not that they couldnt even afford to pay the mortgage if someone wasn't in it.0 -

Fine
And when the likes of Bovey, Allsopps sidekick Phil Spencer and the the likes of you lose it all on a property downturn don't look to the taxpayer, welfare state, the "unfair banks" to bail you out.
We don't want to hear any storys of negatibe equity, or when the cruel nasty Banks let you down, or when tales of when you once had it all and are now in the gutter because so and so let you down.
Just dust yourself down and get on with, don't expect any pity0 -

My gripe is about 1 person having such a vast amount of wealth, more than the GDP of many countries. Surely that cannot be right.
For me this is one of the main flaws of capatilism. I work hard and I assume you do and I have a comfortable life. I don't earn a fortune probably around the average wage and I'm fine with that. I just cannot understand why an individual be it Bill Gates or someone else would need so much money when so many people are suffering around the world.
Yes fair play Bill Gates is giving a lot of money away but there are also many millionaires and billionaires who also use as many avoidance strategies as possible to not pay taxes etc.0 -
As in every business - there are good guys and there are bam-pots.
Some idiots jumped onto the BTL bandwagon thinking they could make easy money, buy a flat, rent it out, rake in the money! WRONG
I worked in letting for 7yrs. Thankfully my boss was a good judge of character and we didn't have any landlords who were bam-pots but I met quite a few tenants who came to us having had landlords who were BTL's who didn't think they had to do repairs.
Right now my neighbours of 3yrs (a fantastic couple) are leaving because the girl who owns the house hasn't maintained the property
and the windows need replaced - the girls who live there have no lease, no gas safety check, no heating - the boiler broke down 6mths ago.
In the time they have lived in the house they have redecorated, recarpeted, done-up the kitchen.
I have told them about "The Right to Repair" but they didn't want to rock the boat and risk losing their home. This is when I found out about them having no lease, no gas safety check.
The owner has the gall to ask them to pay 1/2 the cost of replacing the boiler! Finally they saw sense and are leaving! I am sad to see them go cause they are great neighbours.
There should be a BTL course that people have to complete before the get let loose on the renting public or the Government should ENFORCE the legislation that is already in place!0 -

Tales of when we had it all PSML Isn't this what you wrote about being happy the other day or am i getting you mixed up??? Didn't you "golf" at weekends and stuff and have "all the trappings". Look at you now (if it was you).
Negative equity won't affect me in the slightest as i have no intentions to sell.
Gotta go have another read of your other posts now. Fancy a good laugh.

A woman killed her husband when their relationship became strained due to the pressures on their buy-to-let empire caused by rising interest rates, a court has heard.
She KILLED because her BTL property empire was not going quite the way she wanted it to go, i keep saying, evil people in this game, i will say no more.....0 -

Does that mean if we find examples of say doctors, accountants, solicitors and nurses killing people then everyone else who also works in those professions is evil too?Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I'm not really getting the point of this.
Are you saying that involvement in BTL is likely to end in death?
I'd always assumed that murder was a crime more associated with hate, jealousy or personal gain, rather than a common side effect of the BTL market.Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious!0 -
