With regards to the above comments... One thing that always makes me Laugh is how Steve Jobs is seen as Jesus like in the tech world, and Bill Gates is seen as the devil, even though Bill Gates has given more to charity then any other human being alive :)

Yes, kind as it may seem, giving away a third of a multi billion pound personal wealth still leaves him with a multi billion pound personal wealth of which I'm sure he cannot possibly need.

Without wanting to divert this thread, just wanted to reply to this. He has given away 1/3 of his personal wealth so far, and has pledged to give away 99% of his wealth when he dies. Not only that but he has stepped down running MS to focus on his charity. What more do you want?

    An honorary knighthood perhaps?

And what if he blows the lot while he's still alive and only has $100,000 left when he dies?

I somehow doubt Bill Gates is going to Vegas to spend it all on hookers, crack and poker.

    Don't judge a book by it's cover. ;)

I don't think many would have thought a certain Tiger Woods would have as many skeletons (and whips, chains and gimp suits) in his closet as he did. :D

    If he did then :

    a) He will have still given many BILLIONS to good causes. Unlike almost everyone else on this planet
    b) It will pump an enormous amount of money into the US and probably global economy - no bad thing.
    c) I wouldn't give a monkeys - It's his money remember and let's be honest he's very much earned rather than been given it!
