    Hello Everyone

Here is my review of July (better late than never!!) :-

    • Paid £80 Regular Overpayment off the Mortgage
    • Paid minimum payments on Credit Cards
    • Saved in Regular Saver (8%) £30 difference in minimum/old repayments on credit cards, £100 Overtime, £100 Savings that would have gone into a lower paying account, £10 Halifax rewards - Total £240 :o but better than nothing!
    • Claimed £70 from Surveys (£20 MySurvey & £50 VO)
Still need to save a further £1210 to pay off my credit cards next April/May when the 8% regular saver matures, from my calculations I should be able to achieve this :Dthen I can tackle the mortgage properly!

    Baileys x
    April 2009: Mortgage £94749.00, Loan (Shortfall Mortgate)£10266.00. Total £105015.00
    August 2013: Mortgage £83700.00 :j

    Hello Everyone

Here is my review of August :-

    • Paid £80 Regular Overpayment off the Mortgage
    • Paid minimum payments on Credit Cards (£120)
    • Saved in Regular Saver (8%) £30 difference in minimum/old repayments on credit cards, £100 Savings that would have gone into a lower paying account, £50 Quidco, £220 transfered from an old savings account - Total £400 :D
    • Have opened up a new easy access savings account (3%) and transferred the money from my old one as the interest rate has dropped to 0.5% so that I can start saving properly for our wedding next April :kisses2:
Now that I know I can pay my credit cards off next April/May, most of my savings will be directed towards the wedding now. Then from April I hope to start putting more money towards clearing the mortgage.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the summer break - back to work next week for me :(

    Hello Everyone

    My update for September :-
    • Paid £80 Regular Overpayment off the Mortgage
    • Paid minimum payments on Credit Cards (£120)
    • Saved in Regular Saver (8%) £30 difference in minimum/old repayments on credit cards, £100 Savings that would have gone into a lower paying account.
    • £60 has gone into the wedding fund which included £13.50 from Quidco & £10 Halifax rewards.
    • Redemmed £30 in vouchers (£20 MySurvey & £10 V.O):D
Didn't get paid my overtime for this month so I could not put more in the savings account for the credit cards  so that will go in with next months money.

I'm still lurking on the boards but not as often as I would like as the planning for the wedding is taking up more time than I expected. Its totally MSE of course :D!!

    Until next month............

  • Again, nice overpayments going on there - and only a few months till your wedding. How exciting!
Great to see you've taken off 10k from April 2009, is your plan to get your CC cleared as soon as possible? Looks like you've been prioritising clearing that, so that's why I ask - forgive me if that's a really obvious question :)

What do you think you could clear by Dec 31?Getting the total debt under 90k should be do-able? Keep up the good work...

    Hi originalmiscellany
    Thanks for dropping by!
Yes I intend to clear cc asap and I'm on target to get it cleared in April 2012 when the regular saver matures, then after the wedding I can start throwing more money at the mortgage :)
I will have approx £660 to clear off the credit card by the end of Dec and my total debt should be under £90k by then.
Thank you for your interest and encouragement

    Hi Chickadee
Thanks for your interest in our wedding :)
Its only going to be a small wedding and most of it has been planned. The main expenses are the cost of the venue, registrar and reception.
I have done alot of things myself to cut costs:- invitations, flowers, favours, and I'll be making the cupcakes myself! One of the guests is doing the photographs for free - I only need to pay for the album. My dress was brought in a sale for £80 down from £525. The bridesmaids dresses I'm having made at a fraction of the cost.
I can't think of anything else at the moment :o but I'm sure that there will be something else.
We're not going to be having a honeymoon straightaway - we might book a late deal in the summer.
Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you again
