I love that story about the magazines and dvd's on the mat when you got home:j

Nosey question? How do resist buying things in the shop? Especially this time of year with massive reductions and pretty things at Primark prices? I'd probably spend half of my "spends" money before I left work :o

Thanks all, Shoesy I am going to subscribe to Glamour this year too. It's only £12 for the year and is the only other one I buy now.

Mags I used to have a clothes shopping addiction and kind of left all that behind when i went overseas so now I totally know my limits and buy a piece a month. The discount is changing soon and I will probably buy a few but they will have to do me a season. I LOVE clothes but I hate sale time anyway as it's all old stock and I don't know what's going to be in for next season IYSWIM. My shop is not fashiony anyway, more bits and bobs so it's not like 'I have to have it' stock. Great for work dresses though and i do have a few. We are also between seasons and will get new stock in again soon so again I can wait and get my January frock when some new ones come in. We are a bit different to other retailers in this as most of my old shops had new stuff coming in all the time.

Cheri I will certainly investigate that too.

Had a lovley night. bath with candle and new Prima (I know it has gardening tips and a knitting pattern and I am a lady about town but I love it!) and have looked at a few flats for my brother. He is hoping to move from his hovel this month and I am helping him X

Spent loads today. Paid for a dress to get shortened which was £7.50 and also paid £15.50 to get my coat and going out jacket cleaned. They needed it though and now I can 'Shop from my wardrobe' again. :j

Also bought a sports bra which was discounted and in a lovely colour. It was £25 but I had £15 in my purse by for buying something and just used £10 from this weeks money.

Only have £17 in my purse to last til Thursday  which is obviously not going to work with my night oot so will borrow a tenner a week from each of the next two weeks to cover it. Saturday shouldn't be too dear as I will have a few wines at home and don't plan to drink loads thanks to the diet.

Day 4 of the diet today went well. Had smoked fish again and veggies (roasted this time to ring the changes :rotfl:). Mum is happy to let me stick to it whilst I'm home so I'll pop to the Co-op at lunchtime tomorrow to get something for tea whilst at home.

My friend who's coming on saturday called to arrange it tonight and it will be fun to see him. He's a very particular chap and one of my many gay friends! X

Buying 1 thing a month is a great idea :T Is that strictly clothes or does it include shoes/bags/underwear/sports gear?

I've been lurking in Lulas' crazy clothes challenge and it is very inspiring.

Agree with you about the travelling, too many belongings are an absolute nuisance when travelling.

Hi Souk - I'm also adopting the 'buy one piece a month method', but with my budget it will probably turn out to be socks :(

Hey ladies I adore my gay friends. I have lots and a gay brother who I adore!

Funeral went well. Completely packed and great send off. His wife (my cousin) and the family are lovely so going to keep in better touch with them.

Had a few naughty sausage rolls at funeral tea but had to eat or would have passed out and haven't strayed on diet all week so unavoidable.

On the wine tonight as I only see my lovely gay friend once a year and missed him last Winter due to weather!

He's on his way so better go and get glam!

Mags I usually buy a piece of workwear a month as I have pretty much everything else I need for now and if I need an odd pair of jammies etc I just go to Primark. £4 or so wont break the budget! XXX

Talking of broken budget, grocery spend is horrendous but will talk about that tomorrow.....
