Thanks to OP my first M&S sale experience has been 99% sucessful my parcel arrived yesterday everything I ordered was there and in the right sizes and I can't fault the quality. I'm just waiting for a second item ordered separately. I think the M&S sale was the best in terms of reductions I've seen up till now, so thanks again to the OP (itsallinthemind)

My parcel was sent via Royal Mail... I don't know if that had a bearing on the delvery time in comparison to a courier service

really? I've spent over a grand on M&S online sales over the last few years, and this is the first one I didn't purchase anything. Granted most the stuff I buy is work clothes but i thought the sale was quite poor this year. I log in every Christmas Eve late to check stock so its not like I'm late into the sales. Oh well, I'm trying to diversify my clothing anyway :)

It's funny you say that, because I usually can't afford their clothes but I decided to treat myself to some smart stuff (on my budget that would normally mean Next - but they've gone down-hill quality wise). OP gave the tip of putting what I wanted in my basket and waiting for the sale to 'go live', it worked but meant staying up all night :). Everything was at least 50% off so I saved about £150 but spent more than I should have. I would def' do the M&S sale again as I'm really impressed with the quality and sizing. I also got a few bits from DPerkins which were better than expected. ASOS is another fave of mine but the sale hasn't been great for (plus size) clothes... maybe more reductions to come this week.

I'm jealous :D I wasn't quick enough to get one but I did get the matching cashmere pyjamas. They're gorgeous and far too good to sleep in :)

There's a definite change of policy this year though. The M&S sale thread last year was 280 pages long and it was the 26th of January before they finally took the sale stuff off the site.

It was fun hunting out the new bargains everyday. Even though a lot of what I ordered didn't arrive I still got some fantastic bargains and spent a fortune with M&S as a result. This year they'll be losing out on all those sales by ending the online sale early.

  • I've placed 4 M&S sale orders and most of my item have been despatched (only a few have been cancelled) due to arrive by 5 January. I don't think there were quite as many bargains this year - last year I got a lot of jewellery/accessories for presents for £3 to £5 when they were further reduced later - maybe they'll reduce them more instore?

Over 50% of my order has been cancelled due to low stock - I'm not impressed as it's only the small things I would have picked up in store and saved on postage which are being delivered.
Plus, I ordered four 6x bottle cases and only two 6x bottle cases have arrived.
I guess I'll be phoning M&S tomorrow, really disappointed :(
