    Nominated delivery is expensive when you do a few orders,certainly put the price up on any bargains still think that we would have items cancelled just the same.

    I emailed cs as I have so far had 33 items cancelled only 8 still outstanding and still not dispatched from an order placed 24th. They emailed me back literally one line saying sorry but they are working to get through all orders and mine will be dispatched asap.

    Our ordering system doesn’t currently operate in ‘real time’. Orders are processed when they’re packed for delivery to a customer or store, and only then are stock levels adjusted. This means stock availability can change from the time the order is placed to the time it is despatched.
    Our website is always extremely busy in sale periods and the availability of items can change substantially between orders being placed and despatched. Many people select a nominated day of delivery resulting in these orders being despatched before standard delivery orders. I’m sorry this happened with some of the items you ordered.
    We do understand how frustrating this is and one of our main priorities is to upgrade and modernise our website so we begin to work in ‘real time’. This will enable us to offer a more efficient and convenient service to our customers.
    I’ve placed a £10 promotion on your account which will be deducted from the final sale total next time you shop online with us. Please accept this with my apologies for the disappointment caused.

    Someone at M&S doesn't know what they're talking about.

    Nominated day delivery was suspended during the sale. I tried to select it for the orders I placed on Christmas Eve but the option was not there at all. It did still accept the free nominated day delivery code but my orders certainly weren't given priority as I'm still waiting for them.

    Me too. My order was for almost £300, so I used the free nominated delivery code, but was not given the option of selecting a date either. Also placed my order on 24th December and it has not yet arrived. It is, however, on the delivery van for today, according to the website. Minus the coat that I really wanted which I was told was OOS on 26th December.

    I got home on the 31st after being away to find the m&s package left outside my house :eek: I live down an alley(in a house, not just in the alley...) off a main high street!
    I was missing one thing but haven't had an email about it yet, but there was a random skirt just dumped in my order. Not packaged, not my size, not on the invoice so definitely not a dodgy replacement for some pants!
    Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

    Thanks for that. Its due tommorrow and still showing on my M&S account as waiting to be dispatched, pretty much everythng on it is out of stock now so doubt it'll arrive. Haven't had any cancellation email for any of it yet. Don't want to just have a couple of the items sent as it won't have been worth paying the postage. I'll prob contact them and see whats happening

    I think you'll get them. 'Waiting to be dispatched' means that the items have been picked and packaged.

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

    Sale is still on. Some wrapping paper i had stored for later is now down to 50p a roll.

    I placed an order on 28th dec and have to say i was pretty impressed everything arrived on 31st dec despite saying delivered by 11th.
