in Gone off!
I thought I had been lucky and managed to get an asda home delivery for the 22nd Dec for my big christmas shop. I had to get it within hours of it being released and did as I usually do and stuck a few bottles of alcohol on to reserve the slot and go and add all the food etc at a leter date..
For weeks I haven't been able to change the order and finally got a mgr at the call centre how has told me ' you cannot modifiy your order as any additons will mean they need more room on the truck to deliver!!!! Are they taking the p*ss!!! had a right shouting match and all they will do is give me the delivery free!!! wow... So I can either have 3 bottles of baileys or cancel! What a bunch of idi*ts...
Has anyone else experienced this...?

I hardly think having 3 bottles of Baileys can be called "ruining Christmas".
I also wonder why you added items you didn't want? Why didn't you add items you would need/want?
And if you "usually do that" what has happened all the other times you have added alcohol?0 -

You should have had a list ready, this ' reserving' a time slot with a couple of bottles of booze should be stopped, how can a supermarket plan deliveries if people change their orders from two bottles of booze to two trolley loads of food for example? have your list
ready, problem solved, if you forget anything, go and get it.!!0 -
I think you have to read the site T&C's, I know Waitrose say they allow changes but not when it is a free delivery order. Tesco allow you to amend your order.
themull1 - As for having a list yes I agree you should have a rough idea of what items you want over Christmas and add this at the time of booking but you have to book these slots weeks in advance and may need to amend the order.
OP - I do think you are having problems with being able to alter your order as you only added a few things at the time and they do need to have an idea of what space and vans will be needed, as you can not amend your order it would be better to cancel and go to the shop with a possibility that you can grab the slot which you just cancelled to book a full order.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
I'm sure the delivery service is very busy at the moment and ammending orders will put them under more pressure0

Slight amendment of orders will not affect their service as you have until just before midnight of the day before delivery to alter your order and they do not start picking your items until well into the early hours of the morning.
It is all computerised and your order is not looked at until they are ready to be picked. If any slight changes were to cause problems they would make the alteration time end earlier.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Dont use Tesco they cancelled 127 deliveries yesterday in my area.....yet their vans were speeding past the houses they cancelled. I think they overbooked.0
