I know that because I was out on the roads and saw Tesco vans going past the houses of friends who had told me their orders had been cancelled.;)

    All 127 of them. :rotfl:

Just had a call from Tesco - I live 5 mins from my local store, but I can either cancel my order, or collect it from their 'super store'. It took me 50 mins one way to get to the other store yesterday.

Guess what turned up at my house 10 mins after the delivery slot for the order I'd cancelled! the order they called me about and asked if I wanted to collect it or cancel it (I chose to cancel it)

I ended up spending my money in Asda instead........
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Have to back asda.com with their deliveries.

They deliver from over 50 miles away. They delivered the other night to my friends house in terrible weather with icy roads that hadn't been gritted for days.

Tesco on the other hand, have cancelled orders today to people with much better treated roads. Yes, we had 8inches of snow lastnight but after the snow plow, the roads are much better than the past weeks and the vans come locally!!

My order is due tomorrow lunchtime from Asda, happened to go on webpage earlier and they had a slot (also have to point out much cheaper delivery charge). Fingers crossed! ;)

No, but several of them, after being told by CS that they could not get to that part of town due to the weather. Clearly not true, rather than say they randomly cancelled deliveries they tried to hide behind untruths.

Surely everyone does this? I assess my needs much nearer to the time of delivery. and reserve the slot with a nominal amount of items.

I do this every single time. Every Monday I reserve my Friday slot with two crates of stella, then check in on Thursday to see what new offers there are and (sometimes) delete the Stella!
:o Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!! :o

Asda say they don't deliver in my area, even though their vans deliver to the towns either side of my village passing through my village. When I asked about it was told they do not deliver to my area, apparently they can not stop.

I was an asda driver for 5 years but gave it up on Boxing Day last year... thank god! The average number of boxes per customer at Christmas was 12 but some was just 3 or 4 boxes and some about 20!

There is a big difference in volume & weight between 1 box with 3 bottles of Bailys in it and a big family Christmas shop! If you add 2 or 3 items to an order worth about £150 it probably won't make much difference but add 100 items to 3 bottles makes a pretty big difference!

Most on-line shopping drivers will be working their last day today... have a well earned rest tomorrow drivers and have a nice Christmas!

Oh, and please remember, the hard working drivers earn the same amount as the person near the checkouts with the 'hand on a pole' saying where the spaces are at the checkouts!
