Yay the snow is not bad in YOUR area, what about the area the letter is coming from, remember it has to get from A - B.

We only had 2 days of non deliveries here, and a few days of half deliveries. The posties have done a remarkable job catching up with it all. Despite the chaos on the roads, I myself got stuck on the motorway one day for 14.5 hours, and there were plenty of RM lorries there too. Don't you think that causes delays too?

The housing schemes here are a total mess with compacted snow which has now turned to ice. Asked my manager for a pair of spikeys.... errr only if you're a size 11... Don't think those will fit my small size 5 feet.

  • Its not just the snow and ice from the latest bout of snow.I went to the sorting office today trying to trace a recorded next day delivery sent 6 days ago which still hasn't arrived. The helpful guy there had to get into the very unhelpful tracking system using his mobile as their computer was down.He couldnt tell me where my delivery was because apparently tracking only starts at the point where the delivery arrives at the local sorting office.Added to which, he cheerfully informed me that they had a 3+ week backlog on post.Which might account for the fact that I have'nt had any post in any shape or form for the last 3 weeks.A remarkable job? don't think so....

    your post makes no sense
was it a recorded or special delivery?
theres no such service as recorded next day
accessing the RM track and trace service outwith the RM intranet only gives access to the retail site.
so no different to the info you can get.

Our postie has done a great job (work and home) but it did take 2 weeks for a copy of Fifa to get to me (it was a case of bottom of the pile on day 1, then doing day by day processing and working to the bottom of the pile...ggrrrr!).

My fifa (11) arrived a day before release ;)

I heard a post office rep saying that last week they had over 1000 injuries and 50 posties with broken bones. We had a delivery yesterday, which I think is quite common the week before Christmas, but none today. I think every area will be different according to conditions. I'm in Sussex.

That doesnt sound good. Im also from Sussex.

If post doesn't turn up, can we go to the PO ourselves and collect any undelivered post?

Finally got a delivery today, the postie said there is a backlog of letters and parcels and they were late in getting their pay as well.

The pay is/was on time, but our wageslips were late arriving. I can't see that making much difference as long as the money is there, but a lot of my colleagues complain about them not arriving on time :(
Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T

I have had my newspaper delivered and the snow is still here and my paperboy doesn't moan or get sent home, so why should postman/woman be sent home, if a 14 yo can do it why not a 40 odd year old? just a thought really.
14 year olds still bounce better than 40 odd year olds.

Sorry for the confusion.signed for next day delivery. So what good is the RM Track & Trace system if you can't trace a letter going through the system?
