Like i say I've been looking at older RRs as a TD6 but various reasons and £££s put me off... so I've been looking at MLs 270CDis spec'd up late in year..... the Idea is to reduce fleet... 3 cars & a Hilux between 2 of us is silly Looking at these has kicked up the G Class...... In the past I've been a big LR/RR fan..... It's hard to see past the G Glass if your fully clued up.... and know whats what....0 -

Sounds good to me but what does it give though.. Just been looking online and im not sure a G wagon offers the same as a Range Rover"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

My mistake.... it is the "GL Class" Not the G Class/ the G Wagen...... Incidentaly I'd have anyway G Wagen over any Landrover product if its capabalities were reuquired i.e serious off road.0 -

GL is not in the same league as a TDV8 Rangie.
Good cars, but widely recognised as a little off the mark.0 -

2 of the guys have RRs in work. One on an 04 plate TDV6. On a 10 plate TDV8.
Real world extra urban economy according to both owners is the TDV6 22 mpg. 20 mpg on the TDV8
How about getting the V8 petrol and getting an LPG conversion? Cheaper to tax as it should be classed as an alternative fuel vehicle, you become exempt from congestion charges in London at least, better for the environment as it's pure propane without any sulphurs or particulates. and better on the pocket as the price of LPG is approx 60% of that of petrol.
Just a thought.
