So payday today and I finally went and got my eyes tested. My eyes have actually improved but because my prescription was so long ago the optician suggested I purchased new glasses. So the test, glasses and lenses were £97. A hell of a lot cheaper than the £260 ish that it cost me in 2008.

After bills, Argos repayment and loan, plus car saves I have £266 remaining
:D Now the bad bit is I have approx £290 on my CC :( This is because while in London I put my accomodation on it and Mum didn't save any money herself to take with us  Don't know how to play this month now :o

That asside, Mum now owes me
£747.23 (excluding what she owes to Argos) so thats 5 overpayments to my loan :T Don't ask me when I will get that money though :o

Other than that I am ill, home from work and feeling sorry for myself. But on the upside I am completing my wedding gift cross stitch at some pace :D

Have a great weekend all...

I hope you feel better soon Pap - been ill myself for 3 weeks so know how you feel :o.

Hi, PAP,

Glad you enjoyed London. When you hadn't posted for several days after you got home I started to think that you'd hated it but didn't like to say!!

Let me know when you come again. Perhaps I could treat you to lunch or something.

Hope you get well soon - and that your finances recover from the trip, too!

GF
• Greyfox, that can't be further from the truth I love London! If I could live there full time for a year I would and I don't like crowds. I didn't find it too busy, it was like christmas in town all the time. The worse times were obviously rush hour but even then I coped.

Aww bless thanks :) I think we will be coming back Sep ish next year, due to the olympics we didn't want to be in and around London before/during so mid-end September was a good compromise. I can't wait and am already planning ;)

Many thanks once again, all your help came in really handy especially the small little tips. Thank you.

Em, thanks hun, you get better too. The thing I am more angry about is all my docs appointments in the last 6 days have been telephone appointments. How does that work? Hopefully once my tests come back Friday I can go back to work next week :T

So I have decided, I am going to pay £60 off my card leaving £200 for the month. I only need some shampoo, vitamins and groceries plus a magazine later in the month. So I hope that at the end of the month I have at least £100 to throw at my card before payday. The only thing I think that will cost a lot will be the frame for this gift but with any hope I can get that in Ikea :T

Not a bad plan I don't think, I shall keep you updated :D

• Too right Beanie, I don't like doctors at the best of times. As it is I have been signed off for another week until my test results come through. Not happy as I really want to get back to work but needs must!

So mini update as I have been spending today :o Mum gave me back £50 from what she owe me so that was a positive so I payed £40.00 off my credit card and treated us to coffee with the remaining £10. The spends were...
£9.36 - groceries, I am not a lover of meat but for some reason I wanted a roast today so got some reduced meat in co-op
£3.28 - 2* shampoo and hair bands
£5.73 - thread to finish the wedding gift and 2 smaller embroidery hoops (the dog ate all my smaller ones )
£0.99 - hand soap (because I liked the dispensor :o)
Total = £19.36

So I have £20.64 in my purse and £160.00 in my bank :T

Should be NSD's for the remainder of the month now as I only need some vitamins (will get tomorrow when I collect my glasses), a frame for this gift and a few more groceries. I was tempted to buy a game but I guessed I would be more happy if this credit card was clear so I can close it so I avoided temptation. Maybe next month...

Have a great sunday all :j

Didn't get back to town today to pick up my glasses so a forced NSD. We are going to get them tomorrow on the train so will get my vitamins while I am there.

So to lay it all on the table I owe my CC £197.98 @ <3%, Argos
£410.05 @ 0% and then my loan £140 pm 23months left. The aim is to get the CC clear next month, then clear Argos before overpaying my loan. I do also want to start saving a little extra every month (once I am on Argos over payment) purely because although I know this car will last me 5+years I want to start saving for a new one sooner than later.

That being said I am being rather naughty and bidding on an old sewing box. I need something to store my stuff in as its downstairs and the dog can get hold of it. Also it needs to fit in downstairs, however I am hoping I can get it for £10 + £12 postage... Fingers crossed ;)

I am also ontrack to save my second tank of fuel as the car is still full and I will not be using it until Monday now, therefore I should save the second £40 I budget for petrol, that will go straight to the CC.

So thats Pap, not good in debt and all that jazz, but I have a car :T I have freedom :T
and the debts are a good rate, even my loan is <10% can't complain at that...

See you all tomorrow when I update my spends/accounts

• I have been bad, very bad :o So we went to collect my glasses (pre paid) but I knew I wanted some vits but then I kind of went a bit mad.
£11.00 - cross stich chart
£5.00 - bus tickets
£9.45 - coffee
£4.00 - dog food, poly pockets, dog bags and drink
£12.00 - pj's, 2 night dress's and 2 flipflops for mum
£7.00 - night dress's for mum
£5.48 - vits and corn
£7.59 - groceries (total of £16.95 this month)

So banks etc...
£115.35 in bank and £7.00 in my purse. I will prob not bid on that sewing box now, it will be £22 if I get it at the start price which isn't too bad but I will need to buy some new thread for the chart above which will cost at least that if not more. So I will have to wait and see if anymore pop up on ebay, fingers crossed.

The remaining of the week is sure to be a nsd unless the doctor gives me a prescription later in the week.

Have a great week all :D

£67.52  (just rented two movies for £6) it is quite bad, plus maybe £16 for threads. If I had payed that off my CC it would have only £140. However that being said these pj's are fleecy, warm and soft. Plus in my defence I did need some new night wear as I live in it. I will put my sig against today and brush it under the carpet :D

I am still watching many boxes on ebay but we shall see if I end up bidding or not ;)

What cross stitch pattern did you get? I've got loads of unfinished ones in the attic... Maybe one day they'll get finished.
