Yah :j :j :j
Shame about the finance I took out to purchase it. I am determind to half the term though, so thats 12 overpayments I need to make. According to my budget it can be done and I will still have over £150 for groceries/misc spends each month. Its put me on good footing though as I will be able to save all year for my insurance as I had enough to pay the insurance outright, thats a plus.
So when am I coming to visit you Beanie0 -

Aww bless Beanie, one day I will get up to you, promise. It was my plan once I passed my driving test that I would take a three week holiday from work and travel around touring sites with my car and a tent. Sadly as it took so long to pass then I didn't want a car it never became reality. However I am kinda planning it for next Sep/Oct
I received some stuff from the bank today and I don't start repayments until June, which was a shock but landed in the right monthSo this months budget looks like-
£120.00 – rent
£22.00 – bus (until I am 100% I have factored this in)
£10.50 – house insurance
£35.00 – BT
£19.00 – Dog
£60.00 – Petrol (£40 fills my tank so £60 should be plenty, although I don't know my usage yet, plus its full now and will not be used properly until after payday)
£140.00 – Car saves (mot/ins/tax/repairs)
£88.00 – lessons (I know its a huge expense but for me its confidance and refreshers are what I need. I have driven all of 40min so far and I am not ready for driving alone, thats 4hrs but I could just do 2hrs)
Total = £494.50
That should leave £300, I am planning to use that for London but bring back a little, even though I return on payday. I have worked a few BH's this month so may get a little more. Anything extra I will throw at the Argos 0% I have outstanding.
Not too bad and London is all but done now, just waiting on my megabus tickets to arrive :T
Have a great Sunday all0 -

Thanks Beanie, I think so too. I would rather spend an extra £80 and feel safer than get out there now and cause an accident. However I did go out again with my brother for an hour and did very well, even if I do say so. Still a bit clunky with my accelerator but thats because it is very high but I am getting used to it. It will be roundabouts that will be my down full, although I did two main ones today with no problems :j I am planning my first solo drive after my last refersher lesson next Friday, going to my friends house for a cup of tea :rotfl:
Now a question... Back in 2005/6 when I first started driving I discovered I needed glasses as I couldn't see the required distance. So I bought a pair and used them to pass my test back in 2008. Since then I have never had to use them and thus I didn't get my eyes retested :shhh: When do you think I need to get them retested? My eyesight is still at the required distance, but obviously they will need to be retested soon. The problem is I don't think I can get them done until June payday because of London, is this too long?
Thanks0 -
They only need tested if you feel your eyesight has deteriated.
If you have a looksy I think Tesco may be doing free tests at the mo.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Thanks Beanie, I don't think its got really bad but I guess there may have been some change in the last 6 years. I got these glasses from vision express as I needed the express service but I will more than likely use specsavers from now on. Thanks for the info on Tesco, I think I will wait until payday in June and book myself in then as no doubt I will need a new prescription0 -
Ok so it would appear you don't recieve a train ticket from megabus, you just use your email/ref number. So that means I can't get 2for1 unless I order a seperate train ticket. But the cheapest is £22.00 each so £40 for both of us (you need a ticket each for the offer) therefore I won't save any money
So new plan is needed. The theatre/london eye/cruise thing is payed for. The museums are free so just a few things to fill the other days that will be cheap(ish). I got a free 2 for 1 voucher for the London aquarium so thats something to do if we decide once we get there. It just means some of the offers we were planning we can't really do. Ie london zoo is £40 for both or us
