Re:"Out of interest can I get them in station (kings cross for example) or would it be worth getting them in advance delivered to home?"
The problem with Kings Cross (which I know is close to your Hotel) is that the cheapest fare to/from there (Finsbury Park) would be £4 each. The Waterloo/Charing Cross one is the very cheapest I could come up with.
Waterloo isn’t far from the London Eye, so if you do that earlier in the day before going to the Zoo you could pop into the station and get the tickets from a machine. Similarly, Charing Cross is close to Trafalgar Square, and just over the Thames from the London Eye. There’s a footbridge, which has the added bonus of giving a great view up (or down!) the river. There are actually two parallel bridges – one either side of the railway line. If you take the one on the opposite side of the railway line from the Eye (near the Festival Hall) – and don’t go down the steps at the other end – it will take you straight to Charing Cross.
You can buy tickets in advance, as long as you’re sure which day you’ll be going to the Zoo. Some of the sites charge booking fees but if you use this one https://www.buytickets.southwesttrains.co.uk/advancedsearch.aspx and collect your tickets from a station machine (most stations seem to be on the list for this) you just pay the actual fare.0 -
I don't know where you live, but wondered if you might be able to get a Megatrain ticket down rather than Megabus. (If you did that you wouldn't need to worry about getting a ticket just for the 2for1s.) It's a long shot as only Virgin and East Midlands do them (+ South West Trains, which I don't think would be any use for you.) Have a look here if either of those cover your area. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/promotions/pr1862e8e02343bea84256c05efaa18f/details.html0

Sorry eveyone MIA, burying head in sand, etc etc.... Firstly the lovely Greyfox and then I will post my usual junk
Greyfox, ahhh that makes sense. I think it will be easier to pre order them so will pin Mum down to a day I think. Otherwise a little treck will not be too bad. I am still watching ones on ebay but they don;t have a big saving sadly.
The megabus site has a mega train to london too, £16 return for 2 last time I looked thats from Bristol. If those tickets are avalible I will no doubt get those as it will be better than a crampt coach. Ohhh I didn't know those could be used for the 2for1 offer :T Even though they arn't on the day of travel (that you use the zoo iyswim) they are still vaild? That would be much betterYou are super!

W/c 6th June Beanie
Can't wait...
So I had a new lightbulb moment this week, in more ways than one and lets just say, head in the sand, newbie syndrome was upon me. It got to the point last week that once bills/debts were paid (I did a budget) it was looking like I would have £30 left of my wage to cover food and food alone. Thankfully someone was wtaching overme and I am not doing too badly.
So what happened, well little brother ended up in hospital, I borrowed money on my credit card (the phone went on that plus my lappy) and basically the whole month went wrong - yes even though I was monitoring what I spent on here
Payday was today and my budget stood as £820 bills (this didn't include saves/spends/food) I generally recieve £850 a month wage so here you can see how I would be unstuck. Thankfully I was payed £916.xx :T I have put my info below and you can see my failures -
£206.50 - Usual bills
£150.00 - Argos repayment
£20.00 - Little brother
£140.00 - Mum
£287.71 - Credit card
To explain, the argos repayment was planned that leaves £428.90 to pay before 07/12/11. The payment to my little brother was for phone credit (needed to contact family while he was in hospital) and food in work, I was out of the house from 9-9 most days what with work/hospital visits etc. The mum money was for money I spent at the craft show and fritters really and I am very disappointed I even entertained borrowing it from her and it angers me deeply I did
The credit card clears that so the balance is now £0. The card has now been hidden until I go to London and will then be closed on return, I can't have it anymore as all it is doing is allowing me to spend money I don't have! It is also making my months spiral, I overspend on the CC, repay it on payday, overspend on the CC etc etc.
So thank heavens I got payed more than I usually do and I have transferred £100 to my spends account. So that is all I have for the month, thats it, no more. It doesn't include my bus card. Before I knew my pay I decided to do a storecupboard challenge so on Thursday I listed all I had/have and am now embarking on that. Today I spent £17.34 and that will be it for the month, Mum will buy F&V for me when she gets payed so thats ok. That leaves £82.66, which I have a few things to cover but not many, I will be keeping as much as possible.
So debts vs saves are - [FONT="]£428.90 (argos debt) and £476.52 (saves). Buts as Argos is 0% I shall leave my saves where they are for now. I have also decided car before flat unless I decide to rent. So depressingly so my 'project' will never materialize but thats life.
But what has this week taught me... You never know what is around the corner, no one is going to remember you because of the bank balance you left, no one will remember you because you have lived a very frugal life. They will remember you for your personality and your atitude to life, you as a person even if you only have a penny to your name. Why strive for something that ultimately can't get you anywhere after death and will make you unhappy just to be like the 'Jone's'
Anyway, after that rant, life will carry on, I have my family, some money, my health and happiness. Pap is fine :j
Have a great weekend all
*Btw lil brother is fine, just needs an op and everything should be well :T

Hi Pap, which hospital is your brother in? (being nosy). Hope he recovers quickly. Between DH and I, we are spending too much time visiting relatives in BRI at the moment and of course the parking is totally atrocious there!!! DH even damaged his car in the pay and display just behind the hospital on Wednesday.0

Ohh yes, sorry Beanie, friends too :A
Dangers, he started in F'hay and was admitted to S'mead. Its not too bad and generally after work (6pm-8pm) we get a space outside on the street. Its just when we had to go in the day (like collecting him today) when its cost about £3Totally shocking, plus the price for tv  Rather you than I with the BRI I usually bus it there if Mum has appointments there, parking is awful in that place. I hope all your relitives make a full recovery :A
