  • Thanks Gem, still undecided, but I think for a while at least I need to cut up my CC and not allow it to play a part in my month.

So today I have decided I really need to get a grip on my budgets. for a few months I have just been plodding along and my budget sheet has random life info on and no real budget. So here goes...

The argos debt needs tackling, I know its not mine and it angers me that I will probably never see that money again but its on my credit record which must be kept clean and therfore I shall be repaying it. So £300 is due 9/06 and £428.90 is due 7/12. So my aim is to repay £150 in March and April which clears the first, I will then repay £85 in June, July, Aug, September and October. It will leave a few odd pennuies to clear in November. So I now need to 'find' this money in my soa which is going to be easier than I think but it may reduce my save for a few months but it has to be done.

Can't wait until payday now, I have never, ever been in this situuation before payday ever, but thats life eh :o The best thing is however I have now transfered my savings and have 3% on my ISA, the best rate I have ever achived on my ISA :T

But then if you want to look at mortgages in the future, then active well-used credit will always help. If you trust yourself with the Barclaycard then keep it but tell anyone that you might be tempted to lend money to that it's gone.

and if you have doubts about yourself keep it in a mug of water in the freezer.

  • Thanks Beanie :A Hi Butti :T

Payday tomorrow, woo hoo, budget is looking really good ~
    £120.00 ~ Rent
    £22.00 ~ Transport
    £10.50 ~ House Insurance
    £35.00 ~ BT
    £19.00 ~ Dog Insurance
    £10.00 ~ Fat Club
    £150.00 ~ Argos
    £250.00 ~ Saves
    £80.00 ~ Pc repair (est)

    Total - £696.50

The pc repair is because I dropped my netbook on the power jack and it now will not charge 'normally'. I don't really want to pay for a replacement netbook as I really don't have a spare £200 but I am happy to spend approx £80 to fix this one. The only thing missing in my budget is groceries but I think I will budget about £40 for those excluding F&V.

Not too bad  Have a great week all.

  • Thanks Beanie, I have pm'ed you regarding fat club ;)
  • :j Payday. So I have decided to steel the lovely Palema's idea and I shall now be posting all my spends on my diary. I am hoping this will keep me on track and at least I will have some sort of referance instead of many recepiets. The days I don't post is NSD's :D I also hope some of you will be calling me out if I am buying items that you feel i don't need, for whatever reason ;)

    So todays spends -
    £120.00 rent
    £150.00 argos
    £250.00 saves
    £10.00 fat club
    £7.70 shopping below (discounted)
    £1.79 smoothies
    £0.49 crisps
    £0.65 eggs
£3.49 minted lamb chops (4+ meals)
£1.40 card (one of three as everyone is leaving work :()

    = £537.70

So thats me today, I will be waiting for a lift tomorrow so I may get the other three cards tomorrow, I also need a mothering Sunday card. I have no idea what gift I am going to be purchasing for Mum, I have seen a nice gift in the Avon book so I may order that but not 100% sure.

Have a great week all :j

    Hey PaP
I find it keeps me focused to post daily spends. I hope you find it as useful as I do

  • Thanks Palema, I hope it does :D

    So todays spends ~
    £23.87 - monthly grocerys including 2 cards and a choc treat ;)

Now I have a problem... Way back when I purchased an Eee pc (I mentioned it in my then diary) and it wasn't used much until I moved to this house. As I only have a single room I now spend all my time downstairs and there is no real room to put my pc so I have been using this one daily. Now I dropped it the other day on its power plug and it has broken the DC jack inside the netbook. After visting the techie board you can get it fixed but after getting a quote it will cost £80 and take 5 days. That seems fine but a new one is only £200

So I think I may be buying the new one and selling this one on as faulty on ebay. If I only get £40 for this one it would still work out better than getting it fixed in the long run. But uiuts actuually purchasing it in the first place... So I have four options ~

    1) Keep this netbook and continue to type one handed
    2) Keep this netbook and get it fixed, costing £80
    3) Buy a new one and pay using bank funds leaving £23 for the remainder of the month
    4) Buy a new one and pay £100 on 3% CC and £100 bank funds

Also to add more into the mix I have free tickets to a craft fair which I was planning to set asside £50 to spend once there. So I am now unsure what to do. I really don't want to withdraw anything from my savings but its debt :o

    Any opinions/advice greatfully recieved :T
