Don't know if this offer is in all branches but went into my local one in Darlington today and found that if you bought something from the Boots Hair Removal range you got a full size bottle of Skin Kindly Firming Body Lotion free (worth over £4!). The cheapest item in the range are the Silkymits at £1.29 (which I bought) so well worth doing! :D

Made up for the fact that they didn't have any of the free foot cream in stock...

Well the 3 local branches that I would use the most since moving don't have an advantage machine

So no extra point deals for me.

So I have mailed them to have a moan about it. As there is one about 7 miles away with a machine. But it is not a town that I would visit or the one that is easy to get to as I am now carless.

    Yours

You people who don't have a working advantage card machine aren't going to like this (although we've got three in the Newbury centre Boots and only one of them works) but today not only did I get a voucher for a free pack of own-brand towels, but one for free panty liners as well. Weird that some people are offered tampons instead. I've never really believed that the offers are tailored to the customer, but maybe it's true. I've told my sister to start using the machine (she never does), so it'll be interesting to see what she's offered

Also, we seem to have a constant supply of "special purchase" Mini Mode stock in the Newbury store at sale prices in the last few weeks; new stuff added virtually every day. A lot of it must be a couple of years old because it says "O3" somewhere on it, but just as good quality as the normal MM stuff, it's not like the Mini Essentials bargain range. I've been buying quite a few bits and bobs for between £1 and £3 a time; quite a lot of it has been paid for with points as well.
The Newbury store also had a big toy clearance earlier this year, selling stuff off which it never had at full price in the first place. Far more in the sale than they had in Basingstoke or Reading, which I also visited over the same time. Also cheaper prices, it seemed - for example, I bought the Balamory Story-go-Round (RRP about £25) for around £8 in the Newbury store, but it's still on the Boots.com site for £16.66. Strange but true.

The machine's taken a dislike to me, me thinks

No freebie towels, pantyliners or tampons.

No extra points on an over £7.50 spend

Just a heap of offers for spot-reducing things and other rubbishy items i wouldn't even us. Something on a Gillette Venus razo, when A i don't shave my legs and B I am no no longer purchasing Gillette products - and then it has the audacity to offer me extra points when i buy Aussie products when you would think they would remember from my spending history that i have NOT bought any Aussie products since November 2002!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr @ the dozy Advantage Point machine is all i can say!

  • Fortgot to say though, outwith the machine, that there is a good offer on Energizer batteries if people need them for their personal stereos etc.

Three packets of AA for a fiver at the moment. That means twelve AA batteries for a fiver. Seemed a good deal to me so i took it - particularly as I am no longer purchasing Duracell, as a Gillette subsidary.

Chox were at mega reduced prices in Leeds City Centre yesterday. All down by three quarters.Got some belgium gift wrapped for only £1.35 and bear (very cuddly about 9 inches tall) with chox for £1.50.
    Snootchie Bootchies!
  • I try to take advantage of the Boots offers suggested. Last week the machine was broken, there was only one bottle of body lotion left and the store had run out of the foot lotion offered in the magazine! Hope others had more success.
