Dw on, wm on, more dirty washing collected and clean washing put away. Selection boxs have been opened and put into a lunch box out of the way. Kitchen worktops cleared so i'll go give them a good clean. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Thanks soappie - enjoy your unexpected snow day.

Juliejim - I'd cook them and feed them to my hubby as he has a cast iron stomach! I probably wouldn't eat them myself though. Actually, I'd rather give them to hubby than the dog:rotfl:.

    Managed another room and the banking in the last hour so now my list looks like this;

    - wrap presents
    - Dust round the whole downstairs
    - do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs
    - Children... quick.. tidy your rooms
    - Vacuum through downstairs.. and the stairs!
    - Mop the kitchen floor!
    - Have a skim through the TV guide
    - Tidy up coats and shoes and suchlike
    - Vacuum the whole of the upstairs!

Jobs for later in the week
    - Change any bedding you need to get washed
    - Change pet bedding and wash blankies etc..

    Jobs for DH
    - Clean the oven and hob ready for your feast!
    - wash dogs
    - set up the video & camera!!! Fully charged and ready to roll!!

Many thanks soappie for stepping into the breach, as a keen eyed Dusty noted I was otherwise engaged last night ;)

If anyone is missing from the lists then shout at me and the real toots will sort me out!!!

  • Hello.

I'm joining in for the first time today. I've recently moved in with my OH, so have assumed the role of keeping the place floating above chaos :o

I've been lurking, and considering jumping in for the last couple of weeks, but I just never have, so decided a Monday would be a good time to get in and started...there's much more chance of me actually completing the week!

Hopefully having a set list will stop me from constantly finding stalling tactics ("oh, I just need to put my books in alphabetical orders...the washing, hoovering, bathroom, laundry can all be done later...:o").

May be a little rude and steal some of the spoons that were being handed out earlier too...I have FMS, and the the fibro beast woke up on the wrong side of the bed about 3 weeks ago and just won't quit:(.

Its now 11am and in the HHC I managed to finish off the livingroom, tidy my desk and OH's desk, dusted backroom and vacuumed half of it, conservatory tidied
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

    Morning all!

Can't believe we're on page 5 already, and that so many HHCs have taken place at such early hours! :TThanks to pigpen for the lists and one of the substitoots for updating post 2 - I tried to stay up last night to post on the new thread, but I ended up giving up as I was so tired. By the time I'd finished all of the wrapping of presents, it was 8.40pm and we had to go and deliver them next door for BIL & SIL & George (their cat) so MIL could deliver them tomorrow when she sees them. We didn't eat dinner till 9pm (luckily I bought tortellini at Mr T and they only take 2 minutes to cook).

So, I had a longish lie-in - well I stayed in bed anyway and watched TV with the cat, have breakfasted, and dressed, and going to put the kettle on in a minute, as the HM lemon curd on toast has made me thirsty.

Then, the plan is to cook the encroute that I've been putting off (there is only a tiny bit of mould on the top of the chestnut puree - do you think it'll be ok if I scrape off the top layer, or do I need to buy a new lot? - it's been in a sealed container in the fridge for a week) and freeze it. Then, deliver Xmas presents to M&D's house so they are there and ready to go, come home, put on a washload, and then join in some HHCs if there is anyone left still doing them by then.

Get well vibes to all the poorlies, and enjoy your snow day soappie - I need to get everything done quickly this morning as I know we've got snow headed our way too.

Just having a tea and toast break

Dried all the condensation off the windows - apart from the bits which are still ice.

Boys being requested to help out a bit. DS3 doing the best so far.

I was about to s&s the bathroom but a child is now in the shower so I'll make a cuppa first.

I'd scrap it off and do a taste test. If it tastes ok then I'd use it

Sexym - i'd scrape and taste test like vivw said. It's been nice knowing you:rotfl:x

Welcome aboard littlemissmaniacs - someone will give you a tree shortly.

Right, off to continue list xx
  • In my 2nd HHC I:

Bribed the kids with the promise of marshmallows if they helped put their toys away - living room floor is now clear & marshmallows eaten!

    Hoovered LR & kitchen

Took large collection of mugs from next to the bed into the kitchen (naughty me!)

Scrubbed windowsill & windows in our bedroom - only wiped them on Friday but they were covered in mould already (any ideas why this is suddenly happening after almost 6yrs with no mould problem?!)

Got clothes out for the kids & put some other clothes away.

Now into town for a new mop (snapped mine last week), some gift bags and to the bank.
