Oh dear, :(, well wait and see eh...there was a reason they split up in the first place and that reason wasn't anything to do with you was it? If a relationship is not up to scratch then just putting on a show over christmas won't fix things, neither will staying together through guilt over children...that's if this is the case and your imagination isn't going into overdrive hun. Anyway, hugs to you, do you have a plan B for christmas if you aren't spending it with OH?
Well... I was under the impression that the split was nothing to do with me, but the fact that their relationship was completely dysfunctional, but who knows? If he hadn't met me, would he have left? He didn't leave until after I started working with him, so I can't be sure. All my colleagues have told me how much he has changed for the better since we got together and I'd hate him to go back to being the person he was before. But everyone has been telling him his ex has changed - she may have, but its only been 6 months, and whether they've both changed in compatible ways is difficult to tell. His parents also have religion... but don't seem to be very christian and understanding at the moment. I don't want to offend anyone religious (I have my own beliefs) but this is something that I find surprising, however often I come across it...

Christmas plans were to be with my family anyway, but staying in OH's flat - he was to be at his parents, and his ex and kids were going to join him there for the day.

Greenbee - wish there was something constructive I could say. I remember before I met dh I had a similar situation and it was the not knowing that was the hardest. Funnily enough, he finally decided he wanted to be with me but by that time I'd met DH and thought 'sod ya!'. Hugs to you xx
Thanks Mudders... I guess I need to work on my social life, keep busy and try to get over him. Neither of us can really cope with the emotional stuff at the moment, and he's said he's following doctor's orders and avoiding it as he can't cope with it. Although how being back in the family home fits with that I don't know... he's now saying he can't leave, even if the trains are running, as the heating has a leak (which I knew... he told me about it in MAY and said his ex wouldn't get it fixed) and his youngest now has a bad cough. So I've told him yet again how to fix the leak (radweld - its in the pipes under the floor... beats digging up the floor and its a tried and tested solution!).

Maybe I should point out to him he really ought to go and check up on the flat, as its been cold and his landlady won't be impressed if there are burst pipes and he isn't looking after the place!:p

Freezer now sorted and I have a list of what I've already got for Christmas Eve. Just need to decide what else I'm doing now. Have all the puddings though apart from making a blackberry and apple crumble nearer time. Better do a shopping list at some point.

Anyone fancy another HHC at 11.30?

greenbee - many hugs! Hope you're ok with all that's going on.

it sounds like he needs a few months to come to terms with all that has happened/is happening in his life.

My sister married on the rebound - I sat at the wedding and hoped it would work! It didn't!

She is happily married now, but there was so much heartache and worry and stress and it took years to get over.

My thoughts are with you at this time!
Thanks... I think he needs a few months on his own... NOT back in the family home. Or with me sadly. I did tell him this at the start - that he needed some time on his own, but he persisted and persuaded me to go out with him. I did also point out to him from the outset that I was probably going to end up being the one getting hurt, but somehow he talked me round. I think I'll give up on men...

Now... I suppose I should walk to the post office next. I have client calls from 2pm, and then can spend the evening making chocoates!

I also need to work out where the air is in my heating system. I can hear it, but it doesn't seem to be making it to the top of the radiators or the bleed points, so I can't get it out!

Juliejim - I'd cook them and feed them to my hubby as he has a cast iron stomach! I probably wouldn't eat them myself though. Actually, I'd rather give them to hubby than the dog:rotfl:.

Now that's a plan - he's bought 2 jars of curry sauce that only he will eat so he could have it in that!:rotfl:
