  • mumto5 OW OW OW!!! Rest and painkillers. Sending swift healing vibes to you
helenjelly Oh sweetie, how horrid. Hope you have managed to calm down. Declutter that ***** from your mind and try to relax hon. x
onestep That is a very very tempting idea that I may well follow through on!
Ishtar Bed and rest now! Leave family to get on with it. <<hugs>>

Well my flying went to pot as we had to go over Cupar in Fife to pick up some shop stock as they couldn't deliver until the new year. Roads were a bit dodgy, but we went via Newburgh so went to the wool shop there and de-cluttered them of some wool :) The day was beautiful, sunny, clear, and sparkling snow. We've not had a thaw so there is a lace tracery of snow and frost on all the trees and bushes. It looks exquisite.
-17 outside now, and DH has shut the shop, so off to have a glass of wine. I did hope to have my curtains cut out by now, but that will just have to wait until tomorrow.
Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

  • [facepalm] Any ideas for dealing with permanent black marker that has bled through A4 paper into the textured vinyl flooring in the doorway of DD's bedroom?

    Other than infanticide?

Have you tried cream cleaner and a plastic scourer?

JoJo - Moon is in flooring, and he said that unfortunately it is unlikely to come out as the marker will have permeated the surface of the vinyl. The only thing he could suggest is to try methylated spirits or white spirit, or see if there is anyone in the phonebook who could recommend something. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Oh bother, looks like getting DPs dad and step mum back from Manchester is the last of the worries... Plane to take them to Manchester was coming from Gatwick and has been cancelled so they're stuck in the airport in the Dominican at the minute - which has had rain for all but one day ..... Oh dear

You could have at least TRIED to have sounded a bit more upset Lil-me - what if they were stuck there until after Christmas? That would be Tragic! ;)

And I understand about the presents....

Am a bit bruised this evening - mainly my dignity but also both hands and one hip. I took a tumble this morning. No, not on the ice but on the boots I had put on to cope with the ice I had to cross on the way to the car.

I didn't bother to do the long laces up as I wasn't going to wear them to drive. As I shut the front door, one of them got stuck underneath it :o As I started to go down, very gracefully and slowly, I grabbed at a dustbin which shifted (hence the bruise on one hand) and threatened to topple on me so I let go of that and twisted to the side rather than fall flat on my face - hence the bruised hip and the bruised palm of the other hand.

Thank heavens no-one was around to witness my undignified descent. Moral of the tale? ALWAYS tie your shoelaces children, big and small....

Interesting day at work. I share an office with another lady. I can see we're going to have battles. She wants the radio on, I don't like the channel she chooses and it really irritates me.

If I listen to the radio, I always wear headphones. I even nipped out to the onsite shop and bought her a pair of cheap headphones to plug into her 'puter. But no, she can't wear them apparently.... ~sigh~

Then this afternoon, it was the department Christmas lunch. I'd expected a buffet type thing, but no, it was full on three course meal including turkey and all the trimmings. Totally free - including an unrestricted flow of wine. I didn't partake of the wine because I was driving. But I shall remember that one for next year! Consequently, I'm stuffed this evening and don't need dinner.

Tomorrow morning, apparently, it's department coffee morning.... free tea, coffee and cakes. Such a change from the previous department I worked for!

I might actually get to do some work tomorrow...

But off to sort out some laundry..
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

    Evening all

Still not caught up with the thread properly so more gentle hugs & spoons to everyone.

I've spent the majority of the day ironing. I keep having to stop & sit down when my back starts to ache, but I can see the bottom of the piles and that includes the 4 loads of laundry I've done today :D Load 5 is in the machine (coats so no ironing) and Load 6 will be the quilt from the sofa. Will finish it off later while watching Bridget Jones ;) Also decided I'm going to get what I can of the Xmas decorations up tonight while DD is in bed. Might even do the window as a surprise ;)

Right, updating my list before I go and cook tea.

I HATE shopping, people just stop and talk where ever they like, kids have done nothing but fight and Rhys had a major meltdown in the shop, hubby !!!!!!ed off for half an hour to see a mate with DS1 and he thought i'd be fine with the rest. I am now finished christmas pressent shopping, everyone is got.

I'm now knackered but have soooo much to do. :(

Helen big hugs, some people are !!!!!holes.
Mumof5 big hugs, sit and relax and make everyone pull there weight.

I'm gonna finish my cuppa and then go shout at people.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

ouch! Gentle hugs.Regular painkillers, and a trashy film on telly. Give the list to the rest of the family, they'll be acquiring valuable lifeskills.:D

DS1, DS2 and DD are putting up the Christmas tree. I may need to turn up the volume of the Christmas CD, as they're bickering. At 20, 18 and 16, you'd think they'd grown out of squabbling over who is responsible for the lopsided branches... *rolleyes*

DD and I managed to get into town, and back again without sliding all over the close and hitting anything, nor did we fall over in town! We even managed to buy most of the rest of the things on the list, although I couldn't get the things for DD as she was with me.

Just food shopping in S'bury tomorrow, and if I have time, I need to buy a new tablecloth from TKMaxx to replace the one DS2 melted a candle all over...

I copied and pasted the mega list, then started striking out all the things that don't apply - DD says she's going to post and tell you all that I'm crossing off things I haven't done

    I have done some things!:D

Aw ajmoney We're actually in Blairgowrie, but had to go over to Cupar for shop stock. My sister lives only 10 miles from Cupar, but we wanted to get back before it got dark. Perhaps in summer we could meet up for a coffee? I'm over there quite a lot when the weather's good.. x
