Not a great start to the morning. DH has taken my car as it is better in the snow. I've never driven his front wheel drive car so I'm on foot today in -11. I have to go to work via the fabulous inlaws who are looking after the little ones for me while I go to work this morning. Very good of them but in the opposite direction to work. DS2 is still with temperature and sore throat. DS3 now complaining of sore throat.

DD1 has just departed for work wearing my trainers. We had a tussle over my wellies. She's run out of money so I've given her £5 and told her to leave work at the first sign of any snowflakes.

Also spoke to DD about the boyfriend coming on Christmas Day - How is he getting here and more importantly how is he getting home? She tried to pursuade me that DH said he could stay the night and I told her that hell would have to freeze over before DH would say that.

Better go and get myself and the little ones dressed.

    Good Morning everyone!
Thank you FLC for the list and the thread!
Brr Brr Brr. It's Chilly Penguins outside! Just back from DDs paper round. Very slippy roads with ice under the snow. Must put grit out in front of the shop.
Got one curtain liner finished last night, so will do the other today, and then get on with making the actual curtains. It's a WIP so I'm not knocking myself out over it. My incentive is the huge draught coming in through the un curtained windows. Moving forward though, so it's all good.
Going to get the tree today and a few other bits and bobs, but going to work through listys so everything's lovely for the big day. Got my lovely sister and family coming over for Christmas lunch and perhaps, if he can be pursuaded to, our dad.... who is a bit of a hermit. We've made a contingency plan though just in case it is bad weather, so we'll just take it as it comes.

Cup of tea anyone? I need to warm up before listy time.....x

  • Good morning - hugs and spoons to all who need them.

My back is feeling slightly better :T so I will be looking after it for the forseeable future.

Many thanks to all at FCC - I shall be following the lists if I can. DS has 2 precious days off work so he needs some sleep. He drove OH to Monks Cross yesterday to buy a new telly - we've only been discussing it for a year! The prospect of the hike in VAT was enough and he eventually took the bull by the horns...... now all he has to do is get the firm we rented the old one from to come and pick it up - they've always been inefficient - so we'll cancel the DD as well!

DD2 has a party today, DD1 has a mate coming over and I've got to brave York again - it's not snowed but it is VERY VERY cold this morning.

Off to start my list by putting the remains of the lamb joint into the slow cooker..... catch you all later!

Morning all, I'm in work until friday...argh. So better get a wriggle on.

DD2 is off to stay at her friends later so I'll be able to wrap the majority of pressies tonight.

I've got a late one today too as have a joint meeting at 5 which prob won't finish early.

Hubby says his ear and throat are hurtig a lot, hoping he hasn't caught a virus.

I'll need to defrost our freezer, may get everything out in a bit and stick it outside. That could be todays big job really as there isn't much room and I have some batch cooking to get in.

**Gadget alert** has anyone used those food saver machines, the ones that suck the air out of the bag and seal it up? If so, worth getting or not?

Right, coffee to declutter and best get writing out my listy.

Thanks to all you wonderful ladies and Flylady Central Command for the lists. xxxxx

    Morning all

A big thank you to Pigpen for being so organised and putting the thread together for us when I am sure she has loads to do. Thanks to all the Toots for supporting at Central Command.

Have been up since about 515 this morning as had to see DH away to London via the train. The next 1, 2 or 3 days are going to be pretty grim for him, seems like his hearing with the HPC will now be more like a trial so not a nice time but we'll be glad to see the back of it whatever the outcome.

Will keep myself busy today and have arranged for DD to have a few friends over this afternoon for a bit of a Xmas tea, now she has eventually got her room clean so need to get showered and dressed and get into town for all the bits I still need.

No snow here but doesnt look great outside as obviously a very hard frost and thick fog, hope it improves before work tomorrow (still at least none of the white stuff)

Well if I sit here procrastinating, nothing will get done so better crack on

YOU DO NOT NEED ANY MORE GADGETS :D:D:D:D

Seriously, the vacuum packing gadgets have their place, but you already have a freezer... I got one for my brother to use for smoked meat, as he occasionally does home smoking. He uses it very rarely, and only because it stops the smell from contaminating other food.
