It is hilarious and what a complete numpty :D. But what about the !!!!!! filming the thing in the first place, any chance of getting of his backside and giving her a push in the first place.

Not an entirely bad idea just ruined by going around the back of the car.If she'd pushed the A pillar it might have worked but with the risk of getting run over and I doubt the cops would appreciate it if they saw.

The guy on the camera could have helped, I know I would have even if it was just to drive it for her.

Not a bad idea, it was a plain stupid thing to do.
  • Doing it like that yes, but sometimes needs must when you've got no help. The theory was sort of there, just not the practice.

    Hi everyone
Thanks for the advice and the clips lol

I opted for 2nd gear and clutch control (moved a bit more snow) and it worked like a dream! Thank you!!

Modern cars nowadays will move forward slowly (or backwards) without touching the accelerator.

Just keep putting your clutch in and out making your car rock backwards and forwards and you'll soon get some traction.

Cheers for this, got out of a frozen car park twice today using this method :)

Was so embarrassing when I had my 1 series living on our incline of a road, I just wouldn't bother going out in snow anymore if I had a rwd car, seen too many german cars in trouble today

Don't forget to deflate your tyres considerably so you'll gain more traction, had to do this on the van today to get me up a slight incline.

have been every day in the snow
    working at 4.30am tomorrow
so i shall be out again

My son's flight was cancelled yesterday due to the weather, and his work had booked him a taxi for 6am this morning to take him to the airport. When it turned up it was most of your worst nightmares - a woman taxi driver in a BMW driving in the snow! He said it did a wee skid a couple of times but she was okay. He said it was a black 7-series and he felt a bit gansterish turning up at the front of the airport in it. :D

Sorry, forgot to mention that I had run-flats on my 1 series so even deflating them considerably wasn't going to help.

If you can park on run-flats up our road then i'd welcome you to pop round and give it a try ;)

Buy some snow snocks or proper winter tyres. there is nothing wrong with the car itself it just doesn't have the right equipment at the moment for tackling wintry hills

At very least get some decent weight in the boot which will help traction
