Tips to move car out of snow

  • OP has already had good advice so just picking up on the misinformation about RWD and auto bozes. BMW and Mercs are not useless in the snow at all, they however are not great on hard compound , wide, lower profiled rubber (with clueless idiots behind the wheel just to add aswell!)

My BMW is great now it has proper tyres for the conditions - stereotypes often are just that and generally show ignorance of the facts

As someone else said its a wonder Germany manages to function with all that snow and all those Mercs and BMWs on the roads.... ;)

Not pointless at. If you don't know:
A: Wether the car has traction control and how to tell if it has.
B: If it has how to turn it off.

If you're not sure if your car has ESP then buy a Touran...

Someone else posted it last night. :D

Along with a few photos of people using snow chains/socks on the front wheels of their BMWs.

That may be because they know how to drive them properly, unlike many here in the UK.

Many people in many European countries I understand just have a set of winter tyres (with their own rims) sat in the corner of their garages which they just swap over when the weather gets bad. That's not commonplace at all over here.

I know (there is a long thread on winter tyres in here already) - point is many people think the cars are somehow faulty - they aren't its not having the right rubber on and also the lack of common sense of many drivers

There are plenty of idiot Ford Focus and Mondeo drivers around aswell as BMW and Mercs/Audis etc - some people just like basic humour (which is fine!)
