I appollogize fur mi spellink sumtimes I mizz a key on mi keybord.
No. Actually I prefer using a difflock. It simply scares me the amount of people that don't know how to drive in inclement weather like we're having now. Not knowing the cause and effect that traction control - or more to the point the opposite effect that happens can be disastrous. You can't deny that.
Near a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around....

Deny what? What am I supposed to be denying now?

The OP asked for tips on how to move his/her car out of the snow. You posted some sanctimonious, holier-than-thou claptrap that basically amounted 'leave the car there you clearly don't know what you're doing' and I called you on it.

You can try and weasel out of it all you like but we both know you were just trying to talk down to the OP.
  • Was so embarrassing when I had my 1 series living on our incline of a road, I just wouldn't bother going out in snow anymore if I had a rwd car, seen too many german cars in trouble today

Don't forget to deflate your tyres considerably so you'll gain more traction, had to do this on the van today to get me up a slight incline.

I don't go out in it at all. I told my husband not to buy one as my sister has a Merc and her ABS comes on if it's been raining! RWD and automatic doesn't make a good combination. The bloke in his BMW across the road doesn't attempt it either.

When we first got ours we had to suffer the indignity of sliding back down a brae, while an old banger overtook us with no effort. :o

Our Audi was an automatic and I never had a problem with her though.

Oh my word, no wonder people talk about BMW drivers. 1 Series drivers redeem yourself!

Yet the Germans manage just fine in their BMWs at this time of year?

You could always fit some of these:
