Bearing in mind you don't know wether or not your car has esp, personally I'd suggest leaving it where it is till the snow clears.
Near a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around....

How is 'leave it there' advice on how to move a car out of the snow?

    Bit pointless.

Wasn't me, I just found it on another forum.

Seriously though. Snow chains on the front wheels of a BMW?

Not pointless at. If you don't know:
A: Wether the car has traction control and how to tell if it has.
B: If it has how to turn it off.

I certainly wouldn't want to meet you on the road as you have no idea about the car and the foibles that the above 2 can cause in this kind of weather.

    Yawn. Yeah you're so superior...

Can't spell 'whether' but you're a wizard with traction control. :)
