I would never have thought of it myself, it was OH last year who brought it up when we had a similar problem - our back door is almost level with the platform and blocks really quickly. He's very safety conscious and normally I laugh it off, but that made me go  too. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Evening Everyone
Where do my days go??:o
The good news is NO SNOW HERE!, and looking at the forecast none for us too :T:T:T:j:j:j:j:j:T:T:T
We have wrapped some present today, DH did quite a few, and will probably do me some more tomorrow, and I did the individual ones and wrote the cards, I spoil the Gt Neice & Nephews and they get far too much from us, but most of it bought via grabbit or hotukdeals, so they look far more expensive than they are;)
Still do a bag full of bits DS, and as his GF is with us there year been finding bits for her too, but it is hard as due to distance I don't see her often enough to know her well, even though they have been going out for 4 years now. We are corresponding more now due to the wonder of technology. I've given DH the things to wrap up for me, I can have the world as long as I choose it:) I have a load of things to wrap for DH too but he doesn't know it, and need to do it while he is otherwise occupied.
Got the other half of the quilt out to make DS's into a 15 tog, he has managed with a 10.5 up to now when they have visited, but the temperatures forecast think they will need more. Put other stuff back in the loft, so we are slowing making room for Xmas. Still knitting stuff for Xmas, just finished some mitts to go with a scarf for DGNeice, and will try to find the size for a hat for her, anyone with a 8-9 year old fancy measuring their head for me?:D I have done the scarf in ribbon eyelash wool in a pink multi pattern, then used that for the cuffs of the mittens, and will use it for the bottom part of the hat, and used pink wool for the rest of the mittens and crown part of the hat. Still waiting for wool to arrive to finish DS's GF Hat, scarf bobble and mittens, but did get some a Boyes in Lincoln the other day, so if nothing else will be pulling that bit out and using that once I have finished everything else. I want a trip to Sainsbugs, and need to drop cards off t DH's brother, and the Neices & Nephews, plus another local friends.
OS wise, we have just had an Aldi chicken dinner, I tried their FR ones, but found the cheaper ones more tasty, so had one of those, with some sprouts, cabbage and brocolli, rescued from going off in the fridge, and some beans carrots and parsnips, as DH does not like the former, sprouts are my favourite veg, with mash potato. Got some cranberry sauce out of the spare cupboard, sorted it the other day, it was the oceanwave orginal and was very tasty, even though it did say use by 2004 on the lid
Looking forward to the Strictly Final, so will get off and get organised (if that is every possible for me!)
Take care everyone, sorry the match was called off for Jackie-0, a shame when it was so planned and saved for, think we should contact Liverpool FC and tell them don't you?? DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
hello all
not left the house today, had 6 inches of snow  and its going to be -10 tonight so roads will be death traps tomorrow.
My FIL is worried as he's in Swansea with his daughter and was meant to come home today but is snowed in, he's 79 so I don't want him driving in this, think he'll be stuck for a couple more days
Making spag boll for dinner, watching Muppet Christmas Carol at the moment with DD and going to watch The Pink Panther later, love both those films :j
Hugs to all that need them and everyone stay safe and warm xx0 -
Taplady.
I bet it was lovely out with the dogs. When i had my dog he use to keep bending down to bite the snow and ice out of his paws. Id never seen a dog do it before or since. I love dogs and wish i had one now. But my wife wonted cats. So that what we ended up with. But next time after the cats we shall be haveing a dog.
The trees here are full over snow and it look lovley. I would have loved to have been over with woods or park with a dog today
they had a lovely walk - the little one likes rolling in the snow and they chased each other round like mad things! they are collapsed now on their bed in the kitchen and we're in front of the fire.Do what you love :happyhear0 -

DS is poorly so all four of us have spent the whole day snuggled under the throw on the sofa, watching DVDs.
I'm sure the novelty of being snowed in will wear off very quickly though!
Welcome:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Fairylittle - I'm in Swansea so if I can do anything to help just PM me! It's stopped snowing here now and the main roads are all passable in the city, it's the side roads and rural areas that are bad.

Evening all
Well I've done pretty much !!!!!! all of what I said I would! :rotfl:
I did go for a lovely hour long walk along the beach, which was snow covered - kinda odd! But very pretty. And then I walked to the local shop. I got some junk food, diet coke and trashy magazines. Then curled up on sofa, watched 2 cheesey tv movies (channel 5 afternoon movie cheesey!!) then retired to bed for an hour's nap.
I watched Strictly - loved the normal dances, not a fan of any of the showdances though! Thought matt's and kara's were too much, and had lots of gaps between bits. Pamela's was beautiful but wished they'd done the proper Dirty Dancing lift!
I think Matt will go out first.
Have a good evening all

Evening All
Welcome to all the newbies.:santa2:
Have done some ice cubes with lemon slices ready for next week (I forgot to do them last year)
DD made it to her BF's safely thanks to a friend of theirs who has a 4x4 so I am relieved about that.
Got a letter about the scan that I had last week and I have to go back on 3rd February - so it can't be too serious:)
Did a little knitting this afternoon had that Mr Magoreum film on - what a load of twaddle that was - so ended up putting Alistair Sims Scrooge DVD on
Chilling on the net tonight - there are a few sites that I want to catch up with.
Forecast is dry for tomorrow (We shall see) I don't know what has gone wrong with the BBC weather they can't forecast more than a day ahead accuratelythat is why I swear by weatheraction.com
Keep warm and safe everyone xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
