did you?

It runs out at the end of December, thank goodness I just noticed it, Im so absent minded that I wouldnt remember.

Luckily the service, MOT and tax are all due around this time so I would have noticed in the end

I wonder if its a cost cutting measure as Ive always had one before?

  • Maybe just a postal service problem at this time of year and recent bad weather. It's on the car windscreen, not hard to check.

what with all the other things that are not that hard to remember, life is full of stuff these days and its getting harder and harder to remember everything, we suffer information overload and yearly dates just go out of my head

Maybe the snow has caused a backlog and it's on it's way?

I got post yesterday dated the 2nd December

Royal fail are having a hard time at the moment

Good thing you checked the window screen eh. That reminder could have caused you to drive without Tax.

On a side note do people actually "forget" when their Tax is due and only "remember" when the DVLA tells them it's due?. I only ask as i've never used my reminders, i know full well when my tax is due for renewal and plod to the post office with my bits to renew

I think the UK is way too much of a "nanny state"

I know mine is due end of January but I use the reerence number on my reminder to tax it online to save plodding to the post office with all the bits. So I don't use the 'reminder' to remind me but do use it for the tax online code

    Too much bureaucrasy more like

Why have the stupid VED in the first place?

OP don't renew online, not in this weather. better to go to the PO and get one in person, you don't want to be unable to drive because you are waiting for a tax disc to arrive.

I wanted to get a diesel yaris which has £30 tax but were unable to get it this year, I will get it next year! What car is yours?

Reminders are good, but seriously most shouldnt need a reminder for a tax disc. I understand people can forget about MOT/Insurance due date as that gets stored away.

in fact that reminds me. i renewed it last year in good time. for some reason i thought i couldnt put the new disc on the car before the old one expires, (not sure if this is true or not) but anyway, put it in a drawer to keep it safe. then what do you know, for the first 2 weeks in january i was driving round with the old disc still on and the new one in the drawer. i would have got fined in someone had seen

how often do you look at the front passenger side of the windscreen? i never do, i go in via the drivers side and out by the drivers side with my back to the car, i dont spend a lot of time looking at the front of my car
